GTO and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu not only feature a teacher as a major main character but also what goes inside the classroom can be quite humorous with the amount of gags and themes. The main male protagonist teacher their students with some unusual methods although they are genuine about their roles. There is a large amount of focus on characterization in both series when we find out about the students as well. Do note that Ansatsu Kyoushitsu portrays supernatural elements by adding unnatural events with assassination as a theme as well. GTO on the other hand has more realism.

Denpa Kyoushi addpermalink

If there's one word to describe Denpa Kyoushi and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, then 'intense' is what comes to mind first hand.

Both series has a teacher character that is not your so ordinary professor in class. Rather, they have absurd ideas and are well known for their accomplishments. Also, expect action, comedy, and drama to ensure in a school life setting as it's where both series takes place.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu and Gintama has different premises but they have an ability to attract the readers with their appeal of humor. Both series' main male protagonists has strange habits that are very amusing to watch. Throughout the story, we learn more about them and the relationship connections they build with others. They also show phenomenal skills in certain fields that are beyond human comprehension. Both series are also known for their goofy dialogues but also accomplishes its goal to entertain. There are also serious moments with the overlay of their storytelling though.

Akame ga Kill! addpermalink

Shounen/action manga about groups of people whose goal is to kill a certain person and set everything straight. Akame ga Kill is much, much darker than Assassination Classroom, but their art styles both include some darker panels. Both have large character casts and well thought-out development.

Boku no Hero Academia addpermalink

There's a lot of similarities but to me the biggest one is between the main characters: Nagisa and Midoriya.
Both of them are sweet boys that people initially gave NOTHING for but that slowly become the best in their entire class. Both of them write notes, one about his teacher's weaknesses and the other notes about superheroes in general, so they're very analytical characters.

They also build a kind of father-son relationship with their respective teachers.

I'm sure that whoever liked one of these will also like the other one

Manga: Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan

Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan addpermalink

Kenshin and Koro-sensei were destructive monsters in the past, but in present day, changed themselves to help the people around them.
However, their lives are targeted by people from their past as well as new enemies made in the present.
The supporting characters in both series learn from and are influenced by the aforementioned protagonists and have their own battles to face.
An important theme in both series is an emphasis on not killing but disabling your opponent in order to defend yourself and those important to you.

A special power in accordance with the meaning of the symbol you choose (Aphorism), or a crucial talent you discover, hone and develop over the course of time (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu)...
Both schools will teach their students how to fight and survive under the most various circumstances, which will tend to involve hardcore survival in Aphorism, or furtive assassination techniques in Ansatsu Kyoushjitsu.

Talentless nana is arguably an amalgamation of elements from series like assassination classroom, death note, danganronpa etc but to me the ac influence is definitely the strongest. From the way the characters interact, to the archetypes portrayed as well as the general style of shounen manga both go for. There is also the militairy aspect that both interweave in their plot. Not to mention that they both use the classroom setting as a way to develop characters and both stories initially take place in a remote location basically cut off from society. If you like one I wouldn't doubt you would atleast be intrigued by the other. read more

- The plot bears a resemblance they have a "near end"
- The Shiina and Koro-sensei are humans who have undergone a "mutation"

The main characters are similar. The main characters both seem like normal people but are acutely not. The MCs both seem pretty harmless but have some hidden skill in killing. If you like that type of character dynamic you may like these.

Full Metal Panic! addpermalink

Both manga balance the genres of action and comedy in a high school setting. FMP differs with its comedic situations originating from its military protagonist as he struggles to fit into the normality of high school, whilst also working to protect one of the school students from harm. While the story of Ansatsu Kyoushitsu involves a classroom of students assigned to assassinate a powerful creature, as he becomes their teacher, with its comedy originating from the pranks, mishaps and fails of the characters. So, if your a fan of stories that incorporate and consistently switch between the genres of comedy and action than you'll be sure to like both works. read more

How are they similar? They're both my favorites! Haha kidding aside, both stories:
-occur in a school setting
-have events that transpire over one school year
-have main characters perceived as failures
-have main characters' lives improve over the course of the story
-emphasize the values of friendship and sometimes, love and maturity
-teach good life lessons and values
-are heartwarming
-will leave you in tears
-will change the way you think and live (somewhat)
-are inspiring
-are both my favorites

And did I mention they're both my favorites?

Gokusen addpermalink

Both manga have a teacher main character in charge of delinquent students that other teachers have given up on. The start of Gokusen is a little bit episodic where it would deal with reforming a student and the student finally accepting the teacher. Both have elements of comedy but Gokusen does have romance. It's not very in your face though and it only starts actually happening at the very end.

Same author, and a lot of the themes and structural elements overlap. Especially recommended if you liked the slightly creepy panels in this manga, because Neuro has a hell of a lot more where that came from.

Both keep a steady balance of action and comedy that has a fun and wacky vibe. Both manga have a tragic mystery element about the past of the main characters.

Think of this manga as a seinen version of Assassination Classroom.  There is a teacher with a dark past, helping his student, deemed a useless failure by many, prove her worth and show up the people who wronged her.

Both of these Jump titles feature unorthodox teachers. In Hokenshitsu no Shinigami, the teacher treats demon-related diseases; whereas in Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, the teacher is the world's most dangerous threat.

Both titles feature action-oriented schools. In Hidan no Aria, students train to be detectives; though most of the teachings involve the use of weaponry. Alternatively, in Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, the school is designed to produce assassins in the hope of killing the world's biggest threat.

Both series revolve around a surprisingly nice living natural disaster, both of whom have enormous bounties on their heads, and take a pacifist approach despite how easily they could kill anyone and everyone who stands in their way.

Both characters caused widespread disaster in their backstory for reasons that are kept hidden. Their motivation revolves around a woman in their backstory whose significance is kept vague.

They also have a brother with similar abilities, who they are enemies with.

Both are Jump manga that rely on unorthodox methods to advance their "plots;" Medaka Box utilizes constant parodies of its respective genres and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu ploys grave irony against a (familiar) setting.

both manga has sensei that have powers to help a student whenever they can but the student in Ansatsu Kyoushitsu want to kill him but still like him but in Uwagaki they just hate him but he still there when they are in trouble.

Different premise but both have a similar feeling when it comes to its characters. In fact, both series have a colorful cast of characters that all attend classes for a variety of reasons. The main male protagonist has some influence throughout both series and often gets involved with events relating with other characters. There is a decent amount of comedy present with its dialogues and character interactions. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom) has an additional element of supernatural while Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (Mr. Delinquent and Miss Glasses) adapts more of a slice of life tone. Yet, both series has a goal relating to their premise.

If there's one word to describe Medaka Box and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, it would be peculiar. Peculiar in the sense of being unconventional concepts adapted into a story. Both series follows a small yet colorful cast of characters at school. However, as the story belongs more complex, the characters gets involved with various conflicts that interconnects the fate of the premise. There is a lot of comedy, drama, and bits of action involved for both series. In Medaka Box, there are superpowers while Ansatsu Kyoushitsu relies on creativity through assassination means. Recommended for fans of stylistic shounen.

Manga: Youkai Gakkou no Sensei Hajimemashita!

Both stories follow eccentric teachers doing their best for students. Both are funny and have serious wholesome moments too. 

A few differences would be, assassination classroom had a clear goal in the story and is much more serious, and Youkai Gakkou is more slice of life/fantasy and comedy centered.

Hoshi no Samidare addpermalink

A being who is planning on destroying the Earth after a set amount of time versus a group of people who are working together to stop him. There is a tremendous amount of group development over the course of both stories, though Hoshi no Samidare has more individual character development with a somewhat smaller group making the characters easier to remember and more likeable. Still, the antagonists' of both stories are also likeable and very overpowered and threatening. Despite them often talking normally with those who oppose their plans to destroy the world, they do not change their minds.

These two manga have some similarities
-The two main mascots(alien Octopus in Ansatsu,mono Bear in Danganronpa) have similar traits,and habit
-The two mascots have some objective that is to destroy something.
-In Ansatsu Kyoushitsu the mascot is teaching the students to be better,but in Danganronpa the mascot teach them what is despair.
if you like more serious,dark manga then danganronpa for you,but if you like comedy then Ansatsu for you.

Boku no Watashi no Yusha Gaku addpermalink

These two shounen serialisations feature abnormal classroom settings primarily as a result of out of this world teachers. In Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, the teacher is the world's biggest threat and its class was put together to assinate it. In Boku no Watashi no Yusha Gaku, the teacher claims to be a hero and he teaches how others can become, not suprisingly, heroes (though in a most ridiculous way).

If I only knew that all it took to motivate all the students in a classroom for the rest of their lives was to have a very odd mindbending adult (whether it's a tentacled being or a puppet master) , who knows what I could have been?  Once the fantastic becomes mundane, students seem to develop the capacity to overcome all types of obstacles (bullying, grades, competition) and become peerless in whatever they do.  Truly a mysterious phenomena.
