Since I spent two days and 3 nights up to 3am reading this novel, I thought I'd write a review, though I am too lazy to write a comprehensive one.

An amazing start. A shitty finish.

...sums up the plot of this novel. The setting is in a medieval, slightly fantasy world. We follow the story of a young slave, who later is tasked with the pretending to be the dead prince. Throughout the adventure, we often view things from the supporting character' POV.

Rakuin no Monshou is not your typical light novel. It follows western literature in its style, which means that it neither contains hyper-sexualized children nor any of those overused anime tropes. Instead, it opts for realistic characters with appropriate depth, along with a story focusing on war and political intrigue. While this may sound rather dull at first glance, it is actually quite interesting once you get into it. The battles range from gladiator matches to open warfare, while the politics is done in such a way that it is actually interesting to read about. Below, I will attempt to analyse this novel.

One of the best Novel JP I've ever read, it really deserved more attention.

Story: 7/10 - The story is well put together, many memorable moments, you stop to reflect the internal conflicts of character X or Y, the political part is fantastic. It has a very good world building, each place with its culture, manners, detailing internal politics and its conflicts, but one thing was wrong.
