Both are supernatural horror series based in a small, somewhat isolated town with an unusual and dangerous secret. Incidentally, both series are based on novels, and the original authors are married; though these series approach fairly different subjects, the similarities in their styles and tastes are clear.

As the protagonist moves to a rural town/village, mysterious accidents start to happen and the source of these suppernatural killings needs to be found.

Curses affecting a certain class. The characters are lead to discover more about the situation they are in before madness take control of their minds while also trying to dodge death.

Both series have a high school boy protagonist joined by an unusual female student who goes overlooked or is ignored by others (Another because of curse-related superstitions, Tasogare Otome because she's a ghost), and deal with the frightening and dangerous results of curses and superstitions relating to their school. Overall they both have a similar dark ambiance and ocassional disturbing moments, resulting in both series giving off a similar feeling.

Both stories have elements of suspense into them as well as nice character designs and art to look at as well too.

Both are about a class where people pay the consequences because of a mysterious person.

Gruesome horror with gory details, mysterious death and what could be a possible supernatural influence, the protagonist tries to solve who is behind the mystery.

Both are psychologically horror driven stories revolve around human survival and the prediction of the future on who is going to either live or die.

Both manga make use of a very similar story which pits young people in positions of danger as they try to escape an inevitable curse they are forced into. From there as the character make attempts to escape the inevitable questions revolving around identity, the who and what, come to cause. So if your looking for another creepy short horror tale very similar to Another I suggest you go and read Sugiru Juunana no Haru.

I ' m kind of surprised nobody made this recommendation before me . . they share quite a few similarities , oh well ! My time to shine . . Starting off , they are both horror mangas that take place in a school . In another , there ' s a curse of a kid , 26 years prior to the story who was well loved by everyone , however , he died . due to how shocking his death was , nobody wanted to believe it , && they chose not to . They even still believed he was still part of the class  read more

They have a similar vibe and both plots revolve around a mystery within a classroom.

Elfen Lied and Another are works of God for fans of psychological horrors. Both stories contain the element of mystery as the characters investigate the past, where they slowly unravel the truth of their predicament. Elfen Lied differs as the story investigates the protagonists repressed past. While the story of Another features the characters trapped in a curse where they make attempt to escape, by investigating past cases. So, if your a big fan of an investigative story-line that contains people being ripped to shreds and dying at ever corner, it's likely you will love both series.

Both focus on students who are new to their respective schools, and they soon realize that as time goes slowly by, things aren’t exactly as what they really seem to be.

it has the same dark atmosphere and the main character are trying to find the answer of the mystery.

Both series is horror (obviously), have a mysterious girl & a teenage boy MC, similar tension & atmosphere level, have some school setting.
reportRecommended by Ravenix
Short horror series centring around unusual deaths related to local folklore, taking place in a small town, but mostly a school. Tsumitsuki is semi-episodic and has a slightly more fantasy-style view of the supernatural, but having the same artist (though Another is based on a novel) results in them having the same kind of style, pacing, and overall dark ambiance.

Both of the mangas have the same twist and yet a bit slightly different.. and yet it will keep you guessing until the end.
reportRecommended by ClementineSilver
Decent survival-game, horror, mystery manga that have a solid story as a whole. Doubt is more oriented toward horror, while Another leans on mystery-solving and supernatural.

Horror series featuring a mysterious girl and an ordinary boy trying to discern and overcome the supernatural circumstances plaguing them. The plots are quite different, but the creepy ambiance pervading both is remarkably similar.

Mysteries that are centered about one person of a given group being a sort of "imposter", "odd one out", and that person will cause misfortune if their identity is not discowered by others. Both of these are manga adaptations of a novel.
