Both contain yandere leads, urban, school settings

Both mangas are written by the same mangaka. They both have a person that would go to great lengths in order to get the one they love, to go as so far as to imagining killing or actually committing the crime themself. However, Hana wa Knife wo Mi ni Matou is much more lighthearted when compared to Korosaeru nara, Isso Sakura no Ki no Shita de.

The first three chapters in Hatsukoi ni Oboreta are similar to Hana wa Knife o Mi ni Matou as they both contain a girl in love with someone that is already in a relationship with another girl. The girl excessively tries hard in order for the other to fall for her. Both females realize their work was in vain, and puts distance between them, but in the end, her feelings are reciprocated. Both works are by the same mangaka.

Both Manga's have the same DEEP love for another person, to a point that they start going/and or do some crazy things just to be with them.
