shounen ai with adorable art. although yozora no sumikke de is more complicated, both stories are touching. in both, characters have problems about having feelings for another man.

The art is almost identical. The details towards the backgrounds, the character design and colourings are beautiful. The characters were some what similar as well as they shared quiet natures with disturbed backgrounds that doesn't get explained until later. I personally like 'Only the Flower Knows' better.

In both, they study and work in a lab and they have difficult to accept their feelings and sexual orientation, but have in mind that Hana nomi zo shiru is a heartwarming love story and Koisuru boukun is more like a romantic comedy with more sexual scenes.

Both manga feature one of the MCs working in a lab on a subject related to nature, while the other MC is recommended to that lab as an assistant by his senior, who believes that that job would be a perfect fit for him.

Taking place in a university, both these manga focus heavily on the antics that happen inside a lab. We have an MC who is emotionally distant from everybody bc of someone in his past who abused and betrayed him. In comes our strong and confident MC2, who, attracted by a very specific quality in our MC, volunteers to work alongside him on his scientific project. He is also the one who helps clear the unresolved emotions our MC had towards the man in his past.

I really enjoyed both titles but I'd have to say I prefer Yuki no Shita no Qualia only for Kii Kanna and her art. Same refreshing atmosphere and very wholesome. The MCs share an interest in plants and botany and plants are often used in the way of symbolism. Very cute.

Short, sweet and a little bit fluffy. Both series aren't particularly graphic, and feature a character who needs to overcome/deal with a major incident in his past before moving forward. There is an undeniable sense of friendship and love in each of these stories which will leave you feeling happy and smiley by the end of it.

The plot and characters are not similar to each other, however, both manga give off a really warm feeling. In addition, plant/flower is used as a metaphor in both works.

I can't believe this hasn't been recommended yet. Same refreshing art style and same type of nostalgic airy feeling. I prefer Umibe no Etranger slightly more though because the storyline is more cohesive and it's cuter in a way as well. That necklace and that creepy stalker guy in Hana nomi seems shoe-horned in unnaturally.

I've been searching for something similar to Hana no Mizo Shiru for really long time. And finally I found it~, though there's one really sad fact - two colors is unfinished. It just makes you fall in love with that and then it suddenly ends. Anyways, the overall feeling of this two mangas is almost the same; there's a very sweet lovestory, when the characters meet and slowly keep falling for the other one. And in both mangas one of the character catches a cold. (seems trivial but it's a part of the plot.) Also, Tsujiya really reminds me of Arikawa. Okay, it's just too cute for  read more

Also one of the main characters are well educated (scientist or doctor) and [may be the spoiler!] they deny having feelings for other man.

They convey the similar calm and loving air, and give you so many heart-melting moments. Plus, their arts are delicate.
