The main male protagonist gets himself involved with supernatural creatures that changes his life forever. Dawn Tsumetai Te and Tokyo Ghoul goes by a story in a world that seems normal but has dark secrets. Throughout both series, these secrets are uncovered through complex mysteries with various plot twists. At the same time, the main protagonist tries to adjust his acceptance to reality. Both series series has horror elements and suspense as the main protagonist struggles o find the truth. I recommend both series for anyone interested in horror fiction and mystery with violent concepts.

The main male protagonist's life changes. They get involved in a society where there are supernatural beings beyond human comprehension. Then, they discover secrets that are untold unless experienced firsthand. A dark journey of mind riveting troubles. If you're interested in a horror series about non-humans with thriller suspense, then check these two series out.

Both deal with the psychological aspects of quiet students becoming monsters after an accident and how it affects their lives having to fight to survive.

Both series have to deal with infected people, while trying to stay alive. Apocalypse no Toride deals with a more apocalyptic subject (surprise), while Dawn keeps it a secret. Dawn has romance and school, while Apocalypse no Toride has sci-fi. Both series are trying to stop this “disease” and uncover a mystery. Both series have horror and action. Both have male protagonist, but have a “weak” mind in the start, but grow over time. Some of the similarities will also come along the way as one have read them both

Both male protagonists have to deal with virus and how it affects their bodies. The setting in both manga is similar and they both have the same "feel"

They have both zombie like creatures. The difference is that Dawn Tsumetai Te has a faster plot and a bit more action then I am Hero but I am Hero s zombies are a lot scaryer.

A high school boy is infected by something strange, and forms an uneasy alliance with someone to fight and kill other infected people. His "condition" evolves. His girlfriend knows something is going on, and is upset at his secretiveness.

Both series deal with main characters going through experments and losing humanity, although Elfen Lied is much more bloody and violent. Dawn Tsumetai Te deals with a virus called "nightshift" (very simlar to T-virus in Resident Evil) and the main characters' school life is greatly disturbed by it. Although the two series are not extremely similar, you will get similar impressions when readng them.
