Girls with guns, if you like this combination Hidan no Aria is a good choice. Hidan no Aria is much more about comedy and action with a loli-tsundere character called Aria and one guy with the funnyest power that you ever see, and absurd gun skills.

both protagonist have a "cool mode"

The main guy is being followed by a girl they don't like at first, but later he starts to care when the girl needs help. Both happen mostly in school. HnA is more action, fighting. IZ is has more of a detective feeling to it. Both are good imo. :D

The title characters as well as their male counterparts and the relationship between them are almost identical between the two managas. Both have an even focus on action and character/relationship/backstory/plot development. And it's all in high school, of course. The only real difference is Shakugan no Shana has fantastical elements, while Hidan no Aria is more grounded in reality.

Strong girls with guns and sharp edged weapons! Thoese sweet smiles hide the brutal killer inside. Though Hidan is aschool for detectives, therfore the side of "good", Mission is agroup of girls trained for world domination, or "evil".

Both these action oriented serialisations feature male protagonists who are generally protected by a number of female characters.

In both of these titles, the characters attend a school that trains them in combat. In IS: Infinite Stratos, combat involves the use of mechanical suits. In Hidan no Aria, students learn how to become detectives.

Similarities include: a specialised school which ranks students in terms of particular attributes (combat skills in Hidan no Aria and magic skills in Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei); a male protagonist who is ranked in the lowest class despite having hidden potential; and the many female characters who develop a relationship with the male protagonist.

Both titles feature action-oriented schools. In Hidan no Aria, students train to be detectives; though most of the teachings involve the use of weaponry. Alternatively, in Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, the school is designed to produce assassins in the hope of killing the world's biggest threat.

Similarities between these two titles include: male protagonists who appear seemingly weak, but have unique abilities; a constantly developing harem for the male protagonists; a specialised school that many of the main characters attend; and frequent combat.
