When it comes to the gender bender genre it's quite refreshing to see this one-shot tackle the dire fear one would experience when their social status does a 180 flip. There is a section of this one-shot where the guys in his class want to use the main character (Toshihide) for their sexual desires, thinking that they can do whatever they want to Toshihide now that he's a girl. Many GB stories usually go for the acceptance or prejudice ...

This is my first review. If it sounds wonky- It's because it is.

Seeing that there was an absence of any other reviews on this oneshot, I think it'd be a perfect place for it.

A wicked child and an older brother with a heart of gold make the story somehow warm in the midst of a cold undertone. Though Kenji doesn't understand his sister Nayuta, it brings a light to the oneshot that makes it all worth reading. A bond that is hard to ...

So I found a video with this oneshot and when I first saw it I was like ''WTF DID CHAINSAW MAN PART 2 RELEASE??'' then I looked it up and saw that it was a oneshot from the same mangaka, so I considered to give it a go.

It was honestly really good ,a really interesting and heartwarming short story with the beautiful Fujimoto art .

I do not consider it an 8/10 story , I would say it is more like a 7 ,but ...

Another in a litany of Fujimoto one-shots.

This story presents a more critical and acute examination of the gender-bender trope - a deconstruction, if you will - while at the same time being charmingly unrealistic.

The story qualitatively transforms at least twice before it finishes, and while I'm not going to describe it for you because that would spoil it, it touches on themes of sexual predation, primitive emotions, young love and friendship in original ways.

It is extremely interesting, comedic, and ...

The sequel published before the prequel

Everything in this one-shot is "potentially" the plot and setting for Chainsaw Man Part 2, so this read could potentially contain spoilers for chainsaw man readers. Read this at your own risk

It's a simple story about an older brother and his sister nayuto (nayuto is recycled in chainsaw man) nayuto is the birth of a demon prophecy in which she will destroy the world. The main focal point here is the brother's struggle of trying to understand his ...

Hi, I am leaving this review because I am not seeing many on here at all and I think a lot of people would want to read this if you know what it is. That being said, spoiler warning for Chainsaw Man (go read that first then come back)

TL;DR: If you read and liked Chainsaw Man, go read this.

Nayuta is a character introduced at the end of part 1 for Chainsaw Man. She is the reincarnated control devil. In this one-shot, Nayuta ...

This is by far one of the most moving stories I've ever read. Rather it be by personal feelings or past experiences, the fact that only around 100 people have read this criminally underrated manga is sad. Looking beyond the artwork and writing, it is a story about a forbidden love; one told from by the creativity and art of Tatsuki.

The ocean and the land may as well be the earth and the moon, relatively speaking. It is told many times throughout the ...

Compared to Tatsuki Fujimoto's other short story anthology book, 17-21, 22-26 is the better of the two. Each of the stories were more interesting and felt more complete. Even with the wacky nature of each of the short stores, I still found the characters in each to be real and relatable. I enjoyed each of the stories in their own unique way. I'm partial to the sci-fi fantasy of Nayuta of the Prophesy, but Sisters is the best story. Sisters had a nice balance of a sweet serious story with wacky dark humor sprinkled throughout.

Other short story anthologies that compile one-shots from multiple artists and ...

My favorite One-Shot at date, honestly.

Even being simple, due the One-Shot nature, that's the appeal. It establishes really well the main characters and their dynamic. Nayuta, while practically mute, it's very well defined, and the small character arc of their brother is clear and well developed even when is just a 51 pages manga.

51 pages, the story of a child, who's gonna destroy the world according to a prophecy, and their brother.
A simple story that knows perfeclty where it is going and ...

Well its Fujimotos first works so you'll expect something edgy ish and its what you actually get, yes its edgy but at the same time it wholesome. The characters are quite good and it stayed on the realistic side but it lacked uniqueness in a sense which will make you remember a specific character . The art is quite good the perspective/ camerashots are pretty good and its a little bit messy but its also one of the reason why I love fujimotos ...

the story that struck me the most is "me wo sametara onnako ni natteita byou", i absolutely loved how fujimoto handled the theme of identity and the way we see the progress of the character's mentality (at the beginning, he lets his relatives/classmates/etc define the relationship he should have with his own gender identity but he ends up asserting himself despite his new body and despite the social pressure), it felt very intimate
it was interesting that, in the end, nothing changed between him and rie
rie's development was also pretty subtle, and her attitude too

that was a nice read :)

why won't my anime list let me ...

I don't want to repeat myself again, but I will somewhat. Fujimoto is the best new gen mangaka and really has never released a dud ever. Every story he writes feels full of... something... whether its the angsty passion of Fire Punch, or the shitposting of Chainsaw Man, and even the somberness his recent one-shots, they all feel fueled with genius. These 4 short stories are no different. Although not as immediately and obvious with their philosophical themes as 17-21, 22-26 feels like a more emotionally and maturely rounded take at some fun, cute, and absolutely only-Fujimoto stories. The art is overall better than the ...

the second volume of the stories i didn't like as much forsure, mermaid rhapsody was not that great for me & was kinda goofy, woke up as a girl was weak with kinda awkward, shitty messaging, & sisters i can appreciate a little more after going back & reading it again after loving look back, but anything that’s good in it is done insanely better in look back & any nice moment in it is ruined by it just being unnecessarily weird af the whole time lmao, natuya though was prob the best crafted story out of all of the stories in both volumes, i ...

It's ages since I've left a review on anything, and I thought I'd read some of Fujimoto's other works.
I'll be reasonable with my review, as I'm working under the assumption the one-shot has page limitations and other guidelines.

• STORY: The premise is simple to understand, and the overall tone is neutral. With the lack of pages, the pacing feels odd in places. If I could describe how the story felt, it was like a sandwich missing some flavorful ingredients in-between.

• ART: There ...
