This Isnt for everyone, I think it targets a fairly niche audience, but if you are part of the audience then you will love this.

Have you ever stayed up late staring into the calmness of the night. Do you ever feel an immense wanderlust when day turns dark? If yes then this is for you.

Ever since I was a kid Ive never wanted to sleep at night. Ive always preffered staying up late. Night owl forever. But at some point down the line I was just absolutely immersed in the peacefulness of the night, the time when youre truly free. Theres a certain type of ...

Thank you for reading Call of the Night

My review:
The narrative initially had a somewhat sluggish beginning, revolving around a young boy's attempt to forge a romantic connection with a vampire girl, aspiring for her bite to transform him into a vampire as well. However, as the series progressed, the plot underwent a gradual evolution with the introduction of new characters, leading to the intricate development of the Hokkaido arc.

In my opinion, the Hokkaido arc stands out as the pinnacle of the manga. The meticulous effort invested in crafting the arc's setting is truly commendable, and its conclusion resonates as a beautifully executed finale. The narrative ...

The story so far is soothing to read. It has a hint of comedy and a fun, cosy atmosphere.

The art is as good as it gets. Beautiful and detailed with a variation to a less detailed artstyle for funny non-serious scenes. Adding on to the mood.

So far we have only been introduced to two main characters during 4 chapters. And a few side characters we don't really know much about.

The girl instantly reminded me of Toga from my hero academia. The fuzzy short hair and a playful/slightly crazy personality. Im not making this a negative part, as this is instantly a character ive taken ...

Sasuga Tokoyama-sensei. Favorite of all time.

It starts out as a 10/10 chill read. I won't talk about that much since you can see it from the earlier reviews. But man, did you ever expect this to be such a rom-com killer? It manages to be a slice of life, romance, mystery, and drama in different chapters. Hell, it even has a shounen chapter.

Kotoyama really is exploring his ability to write in different types of genres, and it is amazing. He makes you love our main 2 characters in the beginning, and even the side characters are extremely likable despite the limited development given to ...

Ay yo, imma gas this shi up now. Okay okay okay, the main relationship is illegal, but some how this manga made me not even think that until I was conteplating this manga, like "damn girl really 40 to his 14", but I ain't even cryin about that cus this manga got me in the FEELS, like DAMN BOY; on a real note, this manga helped me think about love and friends more. Not even lying. I was a horny ass teen, now I am a horny ass teen who is slightly more sad (lol). But truly, I got a lotta respect for this shi, ...

It was a great ride.

Yofukashi no Uta was with me ever since the pandemic started, it was such a fun thing to read during the endless nights, i had so much stuff to worry about but the feeling i've found while reading it made me feel great, made me kinda forget we were trapped in our houses, because you know, the whole point of the series was Kou going out all the time.

It was a funny series with a lot of tearjerker and funny moments, with a whole cast of endearing characters. The art is simple but really well done, also the series made ...

Man this manga was a 9/10 until it went from a superb slice of life to a shounen battle manga. Everything started to go downhill after the start of the detective arc. Additionally, the sad backstories were wholly unnecessary and only served to detract from the story. The manga should've done itself a favour and just stuck to its roots. That's not to mention that some of the characters introduced at the start of the story just don't show up for like 70 chapters for no reason. Like why man why. This could've been a fun, lighthearted, quirky slice of life with splendid art that ...

The story has an extremely strong start. And if this was all there was to it, this would be a great work. The problem is the author decided to move away from the dynamic between the two main character characters, and decided to change the genre several different times. The story expands to explore all the different outcomes of Vampire's various relationships with Humans, and by god, they're all sad.

Without spoiling too much, there's this MASSIVE digress where both main characters are presented as some kind of exception to basically all the rules established. Then, after the author spends literally over one hundred chapters ...

For like over 70 fucking chapters now its been going a completely different direction about all sorts of boring dogshit. Complete change in the direction of the story. Its become a boring stereotypical shounen over halfway through where in the first quarter there wasn't even a hint of such dogshit showing up.

With the anime adaption about to finish a lot of people will be looking to pickup the manga where the anime left off and are in for a complete shift in the direction of the story. If you're looking for more of the same great story from the anime you are in for a ...

I'll be upfront, this series has quickly become my new favorite Shounen Sunday series.
The description does not do the series justice. An amazing story of a boy who meets a vampire one late night while going for an evening stroll. She asks if he wants to be a vampire, and he finally knew what he wanted in life.

Story: (8.9)
The story is slice of life, to boarder line Shounen. At times it is just a boy and a girl hanging out talking, other times other vampires show up to try to steal Kou. I don't want to spoil to much, and it is still fairly new ...

"Call of the Night" is a manga that effortlessly captures a unique and captivating atmosphere, making it a must-read for fans of the night time and supernatural romance. This series skillfully blends elements of the supernatural with coming-of-age themes, resulting in an intriguing and immersive reading experience.

The manga follows the story of Ko Yamori, a fourteen-year-old boy who finds himself dissatisfied with his life, unable to sleep and yearning for something more. His nocturnal wanderings lead him to encounter Nazuna Nanakusa, a vampire who introduces Ko to the joys of being a night-walker. As Ko becomes enamored with the idea of becoming a vampire himself, ...

Yofukashi no Uta is an excellent coming-of-age story that uses interesting, unconventional characters to explore its core themes. Questions like "What does it mean to love someone" are directly explored, and other themes like "fitting in" and "masks" are indirectly explored as well. The two main characters, Nazuna and Kou, are incredibly charming and unique, and it is captivating to watch them explore the themes of this show through their interactions. Side characters regularly appear, and though they're less charming then the two protagonist, the interactions they have consistently lead to believable and interesting growth of the two main characters.

I could've never imagined what this silly and relaxing story about wandering out at night with a vampire would turn into. It has it all.

The romance is so well written, it's not constantly teased and doesn't edge you at all, and the author actually gives the couples time to develop together, all while being self aware that the end goal is in fact, falling in love. All the romantic interactions feel earned and feel like they're leading to somewhere, they don't feel out of place, and thankfully they're pretty much never interrupted. They're always executed perfectly. Even though the romance is actually incredible and ...

Felt compelled to write a review because none of these reviews are taking into consideration the mess of an arc that was the last one. But anyways here goes. [TL;DR at the bottom]

Art: 8/10

Very solid art. One of the two reasons I will continue reading this manga. The character designs are very fresh, and Nazuna is a bit of a fashion queen sometimes I will admit. The backgrounds are incredibly intricate and overall the artstyle is just incredibly satisfying and pleasant to look at. You can definitely tell the mangaka put his time into the details with the art. Very well done.

Character: 6/10

I'm conflicted. I ...

I just read the final chapter, so now I'm here to deliver the news: This manga is good.

What originally drew me in was the style. It's very well drawn, the dialogue is funny and I loved the light-heartedness of the story and characters. Character growth was shown (refreshing), and the characters were well-written.

The only thing is I thought the ending was lackluster, but most didn't think that (at least from what I've seen online). I just wanted a bit more, but it's good! I recommend it for a fun, nice, cute read. The pacing is great, doesn't feel super drawn out (when it is ...

As others have stated before me: this manga is not for everyone.

Frankly, I struggle with the right terms to use whenever I attempt to persuade someone to read this. Do I go with supernatural romance? Supernatural thriller? Supernatural comedy? At times in the story it feels like each one of these is fitting, however it still wouldn't be right in the grand scheme of things. In the end, the only thing to say is: "Just try it out for yourself. It's great."

Without revealing too much, this manga focuses heavily on our protagonist Kou, a 14 year-old disinterested middle school student suffering from insomnia ...

Kotoyama, best known for Dagashi Kashi, brings a refreshing take on the vampire genre. Dagashi Kashi may have been a short-format light-hearted comedy, but was tightly constructed and demonstrated Kotoyama's insightfulness and sharp writing. These strengths shine even more strongly in the more substantial Yofukashi no Uta.

While at first glance a simple romcom, YnU is surprisingly sophisticated, exploring the maturing psyche or a adolescent boy, dealing with themes of growing up, escapism and sexuality.

Most of the core characters (Nazuna, Kou, Akira) are written and developed in a nuanced fashion and there is great chemistry between the main couple. There are 1 or 2 arcs in ...

I don't hate it. I actually liked it... most of the time. But the flaws make me unable to love it because they are such pointless flaws that didn't need to exist but they still purposely did some of them anyways and they do detract from the story and themes.

Pros
-Explores the dynamic between vampires and humans and is very honest about the issues it causes to nobody's benefit.
-Attempts to keep grounded on said issues while exploring mental health issues that can stem from or relate to the above.
-There isn't some random uncalled for reveal about a main villain or whatever.
-Explores other (and related) mental health ...

This Show is amazing, the way they portray the thoughts and interactions of the main cast leave me astounded, this show is vey deep meaning to me, as someone who never sleeps ever, and honestly whenever its late i think of climbing onto my roof and just sitting there

This show is highly recommended its, fun, light-hearted but can get serious at times thats why its so perfect, it has a multitude of characters all who are amazing and actually feel like their own individual people with their own lives, i feel so much thought put into this and i love it.

READ THIS MANGA ITS BRILLIANT

Call of the Night is a romcom story that favors a developmental focus over the comedy. Despite the sort of odd direction it went in near the middle, it never fell completely out of line, and the characters would always make up for odd decisions in the writing. This is worth the read if you want cute and fun characters that are still very down to earth with their own feelings they need to work out. The art is also outstanding, for what it's worth with the sort of toned-down mood it offers.

9/10 for a casual read, if you're looking for something "more" then ...
