Both of these are Isekai parodies of longrunning shounen, both are about playing with the series' rules in ways the source material never could.

"Gaiden" would mean something like parallel story, that's all you need to know, Kaiji's case takes an important decision from the beginning of the story and alternates it, Dragon Ball is more simple and takes a fan of Dragon Ball and isekais him to be a character of Dragon Ball, wait that's more complicated when said out loud, but you get it.

Both are parallel stories to the main series, Mirai Nikki puts a side character as the main one while Dragon Ball Gaiden breaks the fourth wall sending a fan of the franchise to the body of a side character, also they're both mostly comedy parodying the original series, sure Paradox gets more convoluted towards the end, but the point is they're similar.

These are both comedic spin off series to shonen giants Dragon Ball & Naruto. They are both relatively short series that don't take themselves at all seriously. The target audience for both series is very similar in that they are to provide a short fun experience for fans of the series looking for new content.

These are both hidden gems for the Dragon Ball fan seeking new content. One is a collab one shot with famed One Piece creator Oda, the other a story of a hardcore Fan reincarnated in the DB world.....as Yamcha! They're both short, easy to digest and target the same demographic. Fans of Dragon Ball, One Piece, Tori or Oda will find enjoyment in both.
