| I don't believe in being "a true weeb" or "a true otaku" and that you have something to "prove". Just watch anime and have a good time. With that attitude you'll see lots of anime and become knowledgeable in it without begging for people's attention and be "amazed" by how much anime you've watched. It really doesn't mean anything if you put others down for not being "on your level". Snobbish attitude and acting all mighty is really annoying. But that doesn't mean you can't criticize bad anime and have good taste. You just don't have to be a douchebag about it. If you're an "elitist" for the lulz and memes it's something else. You gotta be funny for that to work tho. |

| You can only earn a black belt in watching anime by a strict and rigorous training. YOU musn't interact with members of the opposite sex. Hell, YOU musn't interact with people at all. The OUTSIDE must be your sworn enemy to defeat. It is the one that will lead you astray to your path to getting that black belt. You must only go outside for sustenance or if possible you must get other people to get that for you. YOU must also give up all hobbies and devote yourself to anime. Only then you can get it. | I think not being insecure about the number of anime you've watched would be a good start. It's the kind of thing people who have insufficient anime examples to expand on their taste worry about. The answer is "however many anime it takes for you to discover your preferences". Though that's assuming you haven't already found it before getting to anime. |
