Toriko is averaging around 5th to 6th place in the rankings so it shouldn't be cancelled and it's sales are still the 7th best of the 20 current series in JUMP (not counting hxh) |

Fairy tail shouldn't be over 30 mil yet, there only been 2 volume more since 47. Fairy tail had 25 million with at most 39 volumes, this article was published in November 2013, Fairy Tail volume 39 released in October 2013. Here is the link...http://www.excite.co.jp/News/android/20131105/Appget_News_40565.html Every Volume of Fairy Tail since has been getting 600,000 and up first printings, the max first printing a Toriko volume has ever gotten is 590,000 with volume 19, volume 29 got a 540,000 first print and we all know it has been dropping, and just for reference the highest recorded first printing for a Reborn volume 630,000 with volume 23. Please stop giving people misinformation. a Toriko volume has never broken 500,000 in actual sales within a years time, and we all know Shue Isha put too much hope into Toriko's success, and it flopped, hell it Bleach's spot on jump covers in Japan..... |

Updated the sales comparison a bit. Toriko's backlog sells way more than khr's and sells higher than it's last volumes too. I was using what's on the wikia, not my fault they don't update. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_manga |

How do you know how much the bock log sales are? You look at when the vol is released then compare the last seen sales with the sales in the list. We only have the half year list for toriko, but vol 33 sold 60K in 5 months or so in backlog. vol 34 and 35 is guaranteed at least that, 36 a bit less since it released in sept. Plus the other volumes and it comes out around 1.3m. |

I feel like so many shonens go this way when they reached Part 2. Naruto, One Piece, etc and even ones that just get too long like Fairy Tail and Bleach. It becomes convoluted and the pacing and power structure is messed up and weird. Characters are introduced and the cast can easily become bloated. Fights become more rushed, etc. Basically what I'm saying is, overall, I've started to really really dislike this series since the time-skip and I've personally felt a deterioration in quality. I loved this series before the end of part 1, but I've taken to skimming chapters because of how much it sucks now :/ disappointing. Very tempted to bump its point down too. |
