| Wonderful action, background music, settings, and animation. I loved the atmosphere they created, but there are already a few aspects holding this series back. Definite potential though. |

| That was indeed quite an intense episode from beginning to end. The animation, and music were great, and I thought the OP theme was hot after hearing it in its entirety. I just wish there was some more Alphard in this episode. Im looking forward to seeing Maaya Sakamoto playing a major villian for once. The synesthesia(spelling) thing is really interesting too. Im pretty sure thats why Canaan's eyes appear to turn red. I guess it has something to do with her past...maybe. Can't wait till the next episode |
| Im impressed, this was a pretty good episode. Visuals and animation seem like the best this season imo. Plot seems alittle complicated though. Well im looking forward to the next episode. |

| I actually really liked this pilot episode It pretty much showed all of the main plot characters. Gave us the general sense of where the main point of the story is headed with out giving it away, then left leaving you wanting more. Good start. Good characters. Good art. Can't wait for the next episode. |

| This episode was awesome. I honestly have no idea what was happening in it, but that doesn't even matter. The animation was amazing, the littlest things were so detailed, and the characters are pretty interesting. Before I saw this episode, I thought this anime would be pretty generic with gun fights and whatnot, but wow, just on the first episode it's already surpassed by expectations. I just that doesn't change as it progresses, but I really don't see that happening. |

| Pretty intriguing first episode. Even though they didn't do much in the way of plot or characters, they really amped it up in style and grabbing my attention. Along with a lot of the craziness that was going on and the stuff with synesthesia(sp?), I'm hooked. |
| These twenty minutes sure were a blast. I expected some kind of decent half assed crap, but this has proved to be promising right on the spot. Can't wait for more! |
| nice 1st episode, i was pretty much non-stop action, hope the short 13 episodes doesn't kill it in terms of development though... time to go and rewatch it again ^ ^ |
| Gorgeous. The art style was enough to get me interested in this. I don't really have the best idea of what's going on, but I'm sure it'll all be explained soon. Can't wait for more. |

| Loving this. Multiple factions involved with their motivations and intentions slowly revealed throughout the season. The art is great and the action scenes are vibrantly fluid. It reminds me of Darker than Black. |

| Gotta say, i was expecting alot and i was not disappointed. I haven't gotten into a fast paced action anime an a while so I know this will be fun to follow. And having Nasu's name on the script (even though 428 isn't originally his) just gives me unlimited confidence in CANAAN. |

| What we can say after one episode is that the direction,a animation and music are especially excellent, maybe even better than Sword of the Stranger. Also the themes are pretty similar for now, we can immediately see that Masahiro Ando is the director. Oh and we can feel TYPEMOON's contribution everywhere too thanks to the art and script. On the other hand, as a lot of people have already mentionned, I don't understand what's happening on screen, so I can only hope it will improve in terms of script clarity and character development. For now, it's all good though. |
