Now THIS is what I'm talking about. This is some very dark stuff right here, I've always found it interesting what people do in extreme situations. Good stuff.

Damn this was pretty interesting! I hope Kaiji does push him off, though.

Nice cliffhanger.

1-If the main character don't bring justice in the end of the series, I don't think I'll enjoy it.

2-This series makes me want to return studying so that I'll get a good job in the future.

This show is becoming more and more like the psychological masterpiece that I was told about by my friend. Such a great episode, very intense. Wonder what Kaiji will do now!

All those hyenas just laughing at the people who fall and hurt themselves. At least they don't throw food at the contestants

Why aren't the guys hanging themselves under the metal rods ? Less chances to fall, and people behind wouldn't have to push you to pass you.

Very nasty atmosphere in this episode. Iwould gladly wish them all dead, but sadly I don't think it's that kind of show where villains get what comes to them.

Woah, that went on a whole new level of sadism. Physical and mental sadism. Truly the deepest scum of the Earth. Well, no, I'm exagerating. But what a bunch of scum.

Anyway, Kaiji sure wasn't expecting that, neither was Sahara. They said that the first one to reach the other side had 20 millions, but they never said that it was the only game that they would be playing. A lot of time for them to end up dying. And talking about dying, they don't seem to be willing to help these men who fell. Will they just let them die there? That would be absolutely terrible. But so exciting at the same time.

I thought Kaiji would have an advantage since I assumed they were going to do another battle of wits. I got the feeling that the rich were betting on their performances, but never thought it'd turn into such a circus. Damn that's gruesome, really disturbing reactions on both sides of the spectrum. Interesting how they delve into that whole notion of the participants crying and apologizing as they wrong their fellow man. Man is capable of the most abominable things, but self justification and remorse clears the conscience.

I love that Kaiji has learned something and isn't as quick to trust his fellow debtors. Sure, it doesn't really matter in this game, but it's still growth. Intense episode as always, even without the strategy factor. Also, have I mentioned how much I love the opening? I usually just skip it, but I watch it every time in Kaiji.

Just when he got out, it's time to go back to another serving of debt and despair. He stopped being friendly and trusting because of all the times he's been backstabbed ;-;

I first thought that the fall might not be that bad but then that dude fell...Good lord that's high af and hearing the sounds of their impact makes me surprised that the audience didn't wince even once but laughed at it instead. The 20million race brought out the darkest side of people's hearts veiled by self-righteous fake remorse. It's do or die and only absolute survival is in the minds of those with their future in the balance.

Kaiji's well aware of the situation and he doesn't want to do it, but he needs to do it so he's trying to be less of an asshole than the others in doing the deed lol

This is how you make an intense episode.

All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

He wont. I think Kaiji will stick by his morals the entire anime. I think thats why the old man who watched in the first arc said he'd get a lot of enjoyment out of Kaiji. It'll be about Kaiji sticking to his morals through these horrible games and eventually coming out on top by the end.

Gotta say though I didnt expect this type of game. I expected the full anime to be gambling games but it looks like its getting really interesting by mixing it up.

Wooow, that was intense. My skin feels like it was just doused in a flame. It's been a long time since I watched an anime that had me on the edge of my seat like this.

And something about this episode made it seem longer than the usual episode.

Maaan, the loud CRUNCH when people hit the ground, and those SCREAMS. Felt kinda sick witnessing that. Very intense. Very ballsy anime indeed.

A difficult physical balancing challenge JUXTAPOSED with the moral dilemma of whether to push those in front of you from the beam. Two insane challenges in tandem like this is super entertaining.

Also, Kaiji's a great character. It's not usual that protagonists (who aren't anti-heroes) consider doing unheroic things. Kaiji set on pushing someone off of the beam if truly only human, and many would do the same.
Truly, if a game like this were executed, you'd probably have participants crying and whimpering that they're sorry (after pushing others) as if it would make a difference. So the anime's acknowledgment of this real human behavior is cool.

I liked the narration about humans being the only "animal" capable of feeling guilt. Really highlights that this anime is more than just "wit" and "perseverance" but also about our conscience and the human condition.

I hate to throw around the word "psychological" since I feel it's overused when addressing certain anime. But with the amount of moral dilemmas, deception, wit, etc. Yeah I'd say this is primarily a psychological show.
