| I agree with most of those people have already said but would add Steins;Gate (the way the phone message goes midway in the credits was a lovely touch) and Planetarian as it's ending brought forth some manly tears. |

| Refrain kinda disappointed me, as I guessed what will happen there after reading Rin's route (the 1st one). But E17 had awesome ending indeed. Planetarian was my first VN and I had absolutely no idea what it will be about. With zero spoilers and no knowledge about the genre or anything, the ending was extremely powerful - this (and nostalgia gogles) makes this VN remain as my favorite. But my pick would be Ef -a Fairy Tale of the Two-. Yuu and Yuuko's chapters were great and very memorable as a whole, but the ending was a perfect final blow. Honorable mentions: Hanachirasu - because the Akuma no Meikyuu - the "happy" ending of this little utsuge was just so... (major spoiler) |

| I can't bring myself to reread the true ending of Ever 17 so that I can remember exactly how it ended. That whole novel is sheer nostalgia I don't want to ruin it by going back to it. It probably wouldn't be as good as I remember it and I want it to stay that way. -I will say Ever 17 as others have said |

| Muramasa's. All of them, although the true ed comes on top, even if all three contributes in making the game the masterpiece that it is. Saya no Uta "True Ending". Oh the tears. I think I'm probably one of the few that enjoyed Umineko ep.8; the Magic ending wrapped up quite nicely the series. |

| Rewrite - Moon/Terra. Tackling the hefty themes of causality and eschatology, the relationship between humanity's and the Earth, ecology, the journey of life and evolution after the depletion of resources, and the unique solution it presented, I'll say the entire true routes are just incredibly awesome, and the ending is very compelling. |

Pretty much the only VN I know where it's actually unclear what the actual "true/good" ending is. I'd pick the paradise one (think it's called the Gift Ending) if I had to choose one but it's up for debate. |

| Coco from Ever17 or Refrain from Little Busters. They just tie the story too well, and they make the overall experience feel like it's worth more than just the individual components of the story. Refrain on a re-read is much better. I think something like Kengo's arc goes completely over people's head, and the subtle emotional parts of Refrain can be mostly missed if you can't follow the story well. |
