MERRY CHRISTMAS!

le Portrait de Petit Cossette wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was a good watch. Pretty psychological too. It's a two-episode OVA I think.
Pupa....I've read the manga. It only has like 6 or 7 chapters so far, but I liked it. I'm really looking forward to the adaptation.

I'm also planning on checking a lot of titles. At least, I'll be watching the first couple of episodes of a lot of them to see if they are worth it.

Let's hope for it.
I've been watching a playthrough of Subarashiki Hibi on YouTube. It only got me more excited. I already want them to finish with the translation. I hope they don't freeze it.

Hmmm I listen to a lot of types of music. The only genre I don't like is rap..oh and hip hop.
I like alternative rock and Indi rick the best. My favorite bands would be Muse and Phoenix. Of course..when it comes to jpop or jrock, I love Supercell, Stereopony and The Gazette.

Hmm she has also done the soundtrack for Pandora Hearts and Le Portrait de Petit Cossette, but I like the KnK movies better. I downloaded the OST, and I'm always listening to it.

Fall season is gonna be awesome. I'll be watching sequels, such as Magi 2, LB Refrain, Valvrave 2...
There's also Golden Time, Nagi no Asu Kara, Pupa, etc etc etc.

No new for Grisaia's anime adaptation?

Yup. The first season starts a bit slow, but by the time you get to Natural it evolves into one of the best slice-of-life series out there. It also has one of the best settings I've ever seen in anime. And Alice is love.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is also worth a recommendation. Very, very similar to Aria.

Partial patch + VNR /w triple translating.

Wasn't exactly pretty or efficient, probably took 20 hrs longer to play through than it should have but I was way too desparate to play it and it was still summer vacation ^^

Not exactly recommended but at least it works

I like how they managed to squeeze in the number 17 for so many things as well, but yeah the moment you realized what was actually going on with the timeline is probably my favourite plot twist in any VN ever.
HaXXspetten Sep 1, 2013 8:45 AM
You play through the four routes, and think they're good but not amazing; however you keep getting more and more unanswered questions that seem to signify something grander but you can't quite put your finger on it.

Then you play the true route... and you're like 'how the fuck could they make this story come together like this??". Sickest plot twist.

Art.
Truly agree about "art should reflect the type of story", it disposes to certain mood or just prepares you for epic story, crazy comedy or breaking-mind thing etc. Like in Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji art makes you totally concentrate on psychological side of it to such an extant that you may forget about its strangeness (In the beginning I was quite skeptical about watching it because of the art, but it did its work to the best: I won`t be able to mix up it with other anime). I adore shaft animation and their way of producing, all these accents on small details, parts за body and best-known motions of characters. Such things add peculiar charm to their animes.
I also liked animation in:
Shinsekai yori (from the first glance on its dark colors I prepared myself for serious story)
When I see kyoani's style, I am automatically getting prepared for heart-rending drama, and I like it.
Fate/zero has got great battle animation. And yeah, excalibur scene was so beautiful and enchanting. At such times it may be hard not to fall in love with a character *joke...maybe*
Makoto shinkai movies have breathtaking art, and I am ashamed to say that I don`t get sense of his works. I can only hope that in several years when I become older I will be able to understand his movies.
UtaKoi -- pleasing stylization for ancient Japanese art style.

Music.
I am not a "lyrics fanatic", but meaningless text really may turn a good sounded song into nothing particular. I like when lyrics become a kind of confession and helps to understand character or plot. Just like it was done in Madoka (you`re not the only fan), after the last series I reread the lyrics of OP and ED and it made me feel like the answer on all questions was before my face but I failed to see.
I am not so open-minded to all kind of music, but when it goes to harmony and suitableness I will like the song/music, which I may hate outside an anime.
Whoops, it looks like I didn`t see a bunch anime with good music. I also like "ano hana -secret base, fate/zero - memoria, and manten".

In visial novel I`m ignoramus, I played only at Ever17 and Saya no Uta. When you mentioned video games, was it about oriental or western games? Before being animefan I was some kind of gamer.

Syuu are is voice actor (I hope you`re not disappointed that such a mystery word turn out to mean such an ordinary thing ^_^ ).

I think their work is as much important as art and music. I remember how shocked I was when I`ve for the first time watched anime with subs (before that I watched it dubbed for almost a year). I admit that some dubbers were good, but Japanese voice actors were on completely different level. They were the characters, their unity with them was adorable and outstanding for me. I have never thought that human being may express so many feelings through voice.

I recommend the novel. It's good. I like how the author portrays university life so well.
Also, the point of view of the narrator makes the story much more interesting.
I know there will be an anime adaptation this October and I'm really looking forward to it.

I love the Kara no Kyoukai tracks. All of them.

Thanks to your strict (for me) scores. I was finally able to evaluate my list to appropriate scores.

The answer depends on what should be called good animation. In my opinion, good art should be the most suitable for a certain anime. If anime offers serious plot, you expect to see realistic or high-quality drawing (according to time it was created, it is hard for old animes compete in art with new ones. But they have plot, music, characters, atmosphere to be able to beat them). Like in Ergo Proxy or Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica art makes you dive into story-telling, it envelops you just like music. Well, considering development of technology, when every anime will be like "5 wallpapers per second", matter of art may become confusing. Animation, character design instead of being just beautiful may go into experiments. Successful or not. I liked uniqueness of Madoka`s art because it is balanced with everything, while visual-novel style in Danganronpa made me uncomfortable: it stands out too much and distract me from trying to understand whether there is a good plot or not in this excessively intense show. While in Aku no hana rotoscoping fitted the atmosphere of rotting hypocritical minds.

Overly good drawing can make comedy be ridiculous (or this genre is supposed to be like that?), while for drama or romantic rich animation can add new notes in feelings (both for characters and viewers). So I think that art is important part of anime: it shouldn`t be skipped and can`t be chased after, it makes the first impression but it can`t save the whole series. I`m not pleased with tendency of pursuing nice picture in West and East. Good anime (or whatever) have good art -- that`s great, bad anime with overwhelming drawing -- nice try…

About music.
My favorite EDs are from Gosick (both), Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (including "And I`m home"), Tasogare Otome x Amnesia.
OST: Fairy tail, "Everything by Kajiura Yuki", Clannad, Mushishi, Angel beats.
OP (to my surprise it was hard to remember any good for my opinion OPs): Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

What I greatly appreciate in music is voice, I am especially crazy about women voices. Also I like sound of violin, rock and acoustic guitar. To my delight Kajiura uses all of it and it sounds greatly. I like combination of voices in Kalafina.

What about your predilections for music and art?
What do you think about syuu`s work?

(looking at your scores I had a thought that I was very kind to animes I`ve watched and didn`t give them too low mark)
It’s time to ditch the text file.
