Technically my scores are:
Phantom Blood: 7/10 (I liked Jonathan but I preferred Joseph.)
Battle Tendency: 9/10

For character design, I prefer Jonathan over Joseph. But as an overall character, Joseph.

I know i'm gonna get alot of hate for this, but the finale was very poorly executed. I knew nothing of JJBA before the anime was released, so i didnt know what to expect. The anime was incredible to say the least but the ending was ridiculous and insulting to me. The part where the volcano blasts them in the air and jojos hand shoots up from the ground to strike cars was absolutely ridiculous, i know that there was alot of ridiculousness throughout the show but there is only so much bs someone can take. There was no mention of Caesar whatsoever, Jojo saying "Caesar, we did it" would have been enough, and also the way they casually mention that Lisa Lisa told JoJo that shes his mother, showing a scene would have been better. Moreover when they show the coffin dio used hinting that he made it, how in the world would he have been able to get into the coffin if erina used it to escape, this is beside the fact he was blown to bits. I know im nitpicking but i held this show in very high regard and this finale was a huge letdown in my opinion.

AS COOL AS YOU LIKE IT!

One of the most brilliant anime I have come across in recent years. Everything about this anime has been on epic proportions when we entered Battle Tendency. Too bad many probably won't even bother giving this amazing anime a chance!

Phantom Blood: 7/10
Battle Tendency: 10/10

Overall, a well deserved 9/10.

Until we meet the Stardust Crusaders, minna... abayo. :)

Well i did mention the rest of the show was ridiculous, but it was the charming and fun type. So much random crap happened to beat cars, it kinda ruined it for me. The mangaka made cars too powerful, he had no logical way of beating him. In my opinion it would have been just fine to let him die in the volcano, the idea of the earths power taking cars' life was great and more fitting.

That's not true. The logical thing was to knock Cars into outer space, sending him on a trajectory that he could not return from. Naturally, getting knocked into outer space from a massive volcanic eruption is unrealistic, but that doesn't matter; Jojo never pretended to be anything other than goofy, over-the-top 80's shounen in the first place.

There's also a bit of poetic justice in Cars' defeat, in that the immortality he gained becomes his ultimate punishment in the end. So, I think that the ending is fine. The "Eventually, he stopped thinking" line is totally unforgettable, too.

Yes, that final battle is somewhat anti-climatic, even when I read the manga. Although the fact of Kars stop thinking is a fitting end to an overpower antagonist, if you ask me.

Yes but thats my point the process of getting him up there was too insane even by jojo standards, but yeah youre right, Jojo is advertised as bizarre and ridiculous.

I think im entering that stage where everything has to make sense in an anime and to always think critically about things, it makes things less enjoyable, miss being a kid.

This was epic, Ceasar's death got me really emotional but this was done in a completely different way.
I found the way Jojo "died" weird and I'm glad that he "returned". Hearing the other characters' lifes end was kinda sad but it was a very satisfying ending. The fact that they actually pictured the Sony Walkman as it is was great, very funny ending.
Either getting me to cry or having a truly epic story makes me give shows 10/10, Jojo has both. 10/10.

You realize that enjoying series that don't pretend to be realistic and having a critical mind is both possible, right?
I mean, I am usually one of the first to bash faults in "realistic" settings (which is one of the reason I cannot take Code Geass or most other series that try to pretend to be smart and realistic about a different political/cultural system seriously), but Jojo is supposed to be that campy.
Thinking critical means to think about the flaws of a series' internal logic, about the shortcomings of the artistic integrity of the original work when looking at adaptions, etc. It does NOT mean to assume that everything with "mature" content is automatically good and that superficial explanations take away from the drawbacks a certain device had in regards to the impact of the overall narrative if they ruin the theming.

No, you just don't seem to have a grasp on the concept of the willing suspension of disbelieve.

The story just has to makes sense WITHIN the framework of the series.

Yes im well aware i can do both. I can enjoy an unrealistic setting but as long as the events and actions make some sort of sense within that universe, when i witness jojos severed arm shooting up at the sky and hitting cars in the throat, i cant help but think what the hell just happened, it takes away from the experience for me.

I still enjoyed the series immensely, its just those small nonsensical things that are too over the top which bother me a bit. I dont find those two things weird because its part of the unrealistic setting, but when body parts and body-less people fling themselves around its too much.

I didn't forget him, eventually even ripple masters will age (think Straits).
That said fridge logic indeed suggests that Tompeti must be over 100 years old or something.

Really made me sad when Speedwagon got killed off and time skipped so quickly, It was really nice to see Jojo got a happy ending though, the new Jojo to be looks so BADASS though! Friend said even Cars didn't deserve such a fate, but screw him, dude went all Itachi and killed his clan for no reason.

Haha, the funeral scene was hilariious.

Stalingrad was the bloodiest battle in human history and the turning point of WW2, we don't really need a specific reason for Stroheim to die here. It could've been anything.

That seems like an odd thing to say. The new Berserk adaptation is a fucking train wreck and butchery of an amazing manga. The old adaptation is okay but well... old.

Now having said that, David Productions fucking nailed this adaptation. I mean they really could not have done a better job especially with what I'm sure was a rather limited budget.

Epic conclusion!!! WOW what an AMAZING show, Jojo you never disappointed me... thanks!! Seriously before watching this series, I only knew about Stardust Crusaders, because I saw the OVA (which was epic), but never knew about Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency and the other series after SC. This show took me by surprise and it was too epic and great. The animation, art, music, story, characters, everything was done almost perfectly. What an adaptation, I want to see David Prod. take on SC part 3. In the end Jojo is a must see for everyone.

Music: 9/10
Art: 9.25/10
Animation: 8.75
Story: 10/10
Characters: 9.75
