Why does he need to get stronger? He's fine the way he is. He makes his team better by facilitating his teammates good shots. He has a role, and he takes advantage of it, and in turn, it makes his teammates better.

You don't have to be Michael Jordan on the court in order to play well.

He missed an OPEN lay-up.

I'm sorry, but you don't have to be Michael Jordan in order to make one of those.

I'm completely caught up on the manga and this adaptation is fucking amazing. I'll be sad if it's only a 12 or 13 episode anime.

This was the anime I was anticipating the most for this season. Period.

And it did not disappoint.

Can't wait to see Kuroko use

And hopefully they animate far enough to show Kuroko learn

Oh, and as other people have said in this discussion, the music was fucking awesome too. The OP and the song that played during the game against the 2nd years were standouts for me.

Nay, I too laughed at that along so many other things...

Anyway, I'm sorry I don't share everyone's hype but I found this too ridiculous. I rarely try sports anime so I don't know what to expect but I certainly didn't think there would be supernatural abilities... and over dramatic narrations XD... Well, at least I can say it gave me a good laugh.

Perhaps I'll enjoy better the next episodes now that I know not to take this seriously.

It's an area of his game that he should improve on in order to be a good player. It doesn't matter if he's a good passer. Once the opposing team realize that he doesn't have a jump shot, not even a lay-up for that matter, they will not put any pressure in defending him and they can easily double team any other player on his team denying them the ball. It's a double edged sword really.

Now, once he does develop an offensive game (Hell, once he learns how to DRIBBLE the ball), then he'll be a legit good player. Which I hope he does. He IS the main character after all. I'm hoping that the time comes that he'll have to either make an impossible pass off the dribble or a clutch shot to win the game.

impressive animation for passing and "catchy" music that is very suited to this type of anime

To be honest, i hesitated a little in starting this sow. I mean, how can Basketball be interesting at all? im more into the fantasy stuff.

But im glad i did end up watching it. The artork was amazing, and it has it's funny parts too. Im also left curious about the character's backstory. Why is kuroko a so called, "Shadow"?

And Kuroko/Kagami is now my new OTP of this show :D

Not to mention Ono Yuki is playing both main characters(Zenkichi and Kagami).

And been following this since chapter 1 and I'm impressed with this episode.
Pretty solid start. Will get some time to get used to the voices as always.
Seeing the OP with Kise, Midorima and *gasp* Aomine, I'm pretty sure this would be 2-cour or long running.
Can't wait to see them face off with the GoM.

I'm going to go ahead and say that this adaptation was absolutely amazing and it's only on the first episode. The soundtrack was pure awesomeness, no complaints about the animation in fact I praise it, great opening and ending and above all else it was faithful to the manga throughout the entire episode.

5/5.
Hell yeah. I dont have one bad word to say about this first episode. Awesome VA.Great soundtrack. Fluid animatoin. And like you said. It actually follows the manga to the dot.

No fanservice? well, at least no fanservice for guys ^^ (if topless bishounen count as fanservice of girls! ^o^) +1
No mini-skirt big boobs coach !! +1
No moe girls players! +1
No stupids girls for fanservice only around (well, at least in ep1) +1
No junior high players looking as adults (ie Prince of Tennis, even if I liked the anime it's still disturbing to think there are less than 14!!) but players looking around their age +1
Comedy +1
Probably (hope?) no stupid drama (ie Area no Kishi) +1
Restaurant chat +1
Bishounen ^_^ +1
Probably a lot of good doujins +1

... 10/10? maybe just because I fell refresh after the horrible moe/ecchi fanservice I saw before!
This season is really not as bad as I thought! (even if there is no shounen-ai series, again -_-)
Uchuu Kyoudai, Kuroko no Basket, Sakamichi no Apollon (still waiting for it, but josei = big hope!), Shirokuma Cafe (funny for now), Kimi to Boku 2 (fell even better than the first season), Furusato Saisei (cute and can help me of my lessons)

I really liked this first episode and it felt pretty fast for me. I haven't watched many sports animes - this being my
second.

My first was Area no Kishi which I like. But I'm a bigger fan of basketball than soccer.

Watching this makes me want to read the manga now. Does anyone know where to buy it or if it can be found online? I hope there's a translation for it.

Holy shit I was expecting it to be good but not this good. This is so much more satisfying than Ro-Kyu-Bu in more ways than one, even that statement is a joke as this is so much better. It's not often I pick out an OST but the first years vs. second years game had the best pump up tune. Also the rather good basketball action is fantastic, Kuroko's passes and Kagami's beastmode are just superb. Can't wait for more episodes!

^_^'' Given I'm NOT a sports anime fan whatsoever... This should prove to be an interesting and completely unbiased watch.

So far, after watching for about... five minutes, I like the opening theme, and I like the voices for the characters.
-0.0 Taiga is... VERY tall. Reminds me of my boyfriend. T.T Scary. But so awesome looking! And his voice is awesome!
-I LOVE RIKO SO MUCH ALREADY! "Now, you guys... D< TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRTS!" XD I can see myself in her!
-Kuroko... <3 Can I take him home with me? He won't be invisible! He's not like every other shonen guy I'VE seen.

Only thing I didn't like was...

do they intend to keep the same ED for that long?? Or do they really intend to rush the series that much?? He first appeared in ch 74 ._.
