I'd actualy like to know about Julio's backstory... and how he became a familiar "if you know what I mean"... I wanna see some lovin xD Sad that the pope went to shit, that was some strong bond between them.

And Delflinger, almost had me in tears. One of the best characters of the show. He deserves some back story, about how he knows so much about the void. Of course it will never happen because most of the 4 seasons was wasted in mindless ecchi smh

Don't be so sad yet about Derflinger's death...

I read this on a wiki on the manga:
"In the novels, when assassins were hired to kill Saito in Volume 16 he was shattered by one of the assassins. In Volume 19 it was revealed Derflinger is a 'spirit sword' made by the first Gandalfr, Sasha, using elven magic and was the same blade that pierced Brimir's heart and lead to his death. And the consciousness of the sword can hop between blades if necessary when the old vessel is destroyed. Currently Derflinger resides in one of Saito's katanas."

He might still be alive in the anime too!

But Derflinger's death was too short. Skipped the emotional part back into the fight too fast. Really very bad... They could have shown flashbacks, recalling the times Saito first got Derflinger and the memories to make it more emotional. But nooooo. They just skipped back to the fight -.-

I was sad seeing Derflinger go, too, but you guys DO realize he's a spirit sword? He'll transfer into the next closest sword. He's not gone forever ;)

Also, seeing the preview for episode 11 really shocked me. Saito and Louise letting go of each other's hands... Wonder what's gonna happen :S

But, let's be serious. Next episode doesn't seem so god. It appears, Louise finally wants to do obvious things with Saito in bed [or not. surprise us..] but something stopps them [AGAIN!] and she says their contract is over or somethind D:

Presumably ending of whole series?
1) Saito dies with words such as 'Louise, all I want to is to protect you. You have to live. I loooove you'
2) Same as above BUT at the end, Saito lives > Season 2 ending once again.
3) Saito takes Louise to his world [hopefully only her.. FUUU SIESTA, HENRIETTA, TABITHA and ESPECIALLY YOU, TIFFA!]
4) Saito wants to use his Heart of God power to boost somebody [maybe Louise?] in order to defeat that dragon badass, but then.. Louise is filled with anger [I mean, Derf said that Void powers depends on casters feelings, right?] that this could tare her and Saito apart and unleashes her al-Qaeda hidden power, saves the world, happy end, bitches @.@

I thought someone else would've thought about this by now, but... seems not.

So, we've got 3 facts to work with:

Fact 1: The Pope didn't jump when he easily could have.
Fact 2: The Dragon chose to eat the Pope instead of go lazorbeam on him.
Fact 3: 'Something' changed in the Dragon when it ate the Pope.

From this I draw the following logical conclusions:

- The Dragon is able to sense Void Mages.(it was mentioned by one of the knights that something seemed to be attracting it to them... and it was headed for Romalia, where 3 Void Mages were present)
- The Dragon either powers up if it eats Void Mages, or -really- likes their taste.(and his eyes either change colour if he powers up, or when he gets his eating fetish fired up)
- The Pope knew about this and knew that even if he jumped off, the Dragon would sense it and go after him. Thus pushing Julio off and -not- jumping himself was the only way to give Julie even a remote chance.

He was very obviously hurting the big dragon, and all the little dragons as well. Plus he got eaten. I'd say that's proof enough he's not evil, he's just secretive because he knows the world is at stake, and in lieu of that keeping information from Saito(like that he could die) in order to not endanger the plan seems like a logical thing to do. Recall how super-thankful he was towards Saito when Saito agreed to boost his magic. That was a risk the Pope took: it'd have been better for him to just say a short "thanks", because it would be less suspicious.

But he chose to take the risk because he really felt thanks were necessary. Would an evil guy do that? Nope.

Also, I don't think you're being fair to Tiffa. She's just following her heart. In fact, they're all following their heart, you can't blame people for that. Saito needs to learn he'll have to make certain people sad in order to be with the person he loves. Right now he's not strong enough to do that yet (or resist boobs), but he will learn. All of you people need to stop with "X, please die!" and "Omg, I hate Y!" screaming at every turn, because it is honestly unsightly.

Empathy, acquire it.

Is there really 13 episodes? I could've sworn that I saw some empty slots for episodes up to 15 on some websites... I REALLY hope it doesn't end in two episodes... Saito just needs to learn to resist BOOBEHS and stay with Louise. That's a big reason of why I kept watching this anime. They're adorable.

If you think about it literally, this is the last of the TV SERIES. There could possibly be more OVAs, a Movie, and such. I hope that's what it is. It still feels like there's more that J.C. Staff could use.

A pretty hardcore episode past Jean's death. Delfinger dying is kinda fucked up though, and although the manga does state that he's a spirit sword, I'm not sure the anime would actually bring him back.

What a great fantasy world though.

/faceplam...really? So Saito uses the power on his immanence that will shorten his life, he loses derflinger, and his immanence dies. Lol and the ancient dragon has a hidden 3rd eye that gives him extra power...ooo what a twist. Gime me a break, these are the type of writing that will lower the chance that I wll rewatch a series or recommend it. (Don't get me started on the second season) So much good writing mixed with some terrible plot lines. I think they need to give the writers more time to think the story through, just feels to rushed and convoluted.

this entire arc is full of random twists... random dragon appears, julio decides to fly closer to the dragon for some reason, emminence DIES WHEN HE COULD HAVE JUST JUMPED OFF HIMSELF WTF WHO GIVES A CRAP ABOUT JULIO WHEN YOU LOSE 1 OF 3 ONLY MAGIC USERS THAT STOP THAT THING, derf dies too becuz julio flew in close for some reason... >.> if you want to fly in close to intensify the spell at least fly somewhere safe... not right in front of the monster where it can see and eat you ( if behind the monster wouldn't be able to see as easily because he is trapped in rubble so he can't move )

this season is pretty stupid and illogical all around... I bet that how they're going to defeat the dragon is that Louise and Saito uses the power of LOVE to intensify her magic.. i haven't watched the last 2 episodes yet

RIP Pope and Derf, but I have to say, Derf's death was much more tragic, I could care less about the other guy haha. That dragon was weird though, its eyes went from yellow to red after crunching the Pope? 2 more episode, oh how will it all end?

PS: I hate how in many anime, the main character "loses his life force" to save the people, and its all dramatic and everything(but in the end they don't suffer any consequences, or very minor ones), but it gets old, at least in my opinion. Too much drama surrounding it for my liking.
