Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

This scene was done better in the remake. No one can deny it.
The whole 'marriage' aspect is gone from this version.
And Makato disappears too soon, right when she got to the hill.

Their farewell was too sudden and less dramatic than in 2006'th version, but there was something what wasn't included in the remake. When they were leaving the house Makoto said "Thank you... mom". That was so heartbreaking, and seeing tears in Nayuki's mom's eyes made me cry too early, I had always cried when Makoto disappeared.

I have not watched the 2006 version, although I would really like to comment on the fact that it was cut too sudden, and was highly anticlimactic during the moment Yuuichi brought her up the hill. Seeing that the 2006 did not include the part which Makoto said "arigatou, oka-san"; I guess the 2002 version has its charms which even the longer 2006 KyoAni remake does not. Highly emotional episode, that is for sure. Although I have qualms for using just one episode, similar to the previous episode on Shiori. Not enough emphasis is available to evoke the due emotional drama for Makoto.

I agree with your remark but I highly recommend watching 2006 version, it has a lot of emotional moments and the story is more developed. You won't regret it if you liked 2002 version. 2002v is like a chocolate cake, you like it and it has its' worth. Then 2006v is like a chocolate cake with pieces of chocolate inside and covered in chocolate layer outside; I don't mean it's too candy-sweet; it's just delicious and poetic.
Sorry for a little off-topic.

Well, I have been planning to take it upon myself to watch the remaster, it's just that I want to hold a little longer before I do so. It's just a habit of mine, to keep good things last in my head a little longer instead of 'marathoning' everything in one go. This leaves a greater impression in my head. Thanks for your analogy though, it sounds effectively sweet to me.

I think the classic handled Makoto's arc well until the end when she suddenly disappeared. The remake is a tier superior in that regard.

There goes that idiot. I was surprised that Akiko got emotional as Makoto addressed her as mother.

This episode all the questions I had on who Makoto was before she came to Yuuichi's place.

Anyway, I did not realise that Maaya Sakamoto and Araragi's seiyuu are here.
