Darnit, chrctrnm, you got it before me. :P

Though it's different from the manga, I liked the little plot in this episode with Shinobu, it was kinda heartwarming and touching >.>

It appears the creators of the Anime rendition are going easy on Keitaro. The Manga puts him through so much more torture.

Heh, Keitarou basically told Shinobu she'll make a great wife and then she got happy again. In all seriousness though, divorce is (usually) hard for the kids so this was a good solution.

This was a great introduction for the fifth girl and to give almost everyone a bit more character development. I love the comedy, and especially Naru's violent streak. Can't wait to see the rest.

Returning to what matters, the episode focuses on the introduction of the character already shown in the initial episode, Shinobu (the one Keitarou drew smiling). We even see her perspective on what happened, and that was nice. We follow more of her life throughout the episode and how she is shy, without friends at school, and now going through her parents' divorce (many difficult situations in succession).

(Pause to highlight the well-executed dramatic soundtrack in the scene where Shinobu is walking).

In the rest of the episode, we see how Keitarou is concerned about Shinobu and asks her to live in the dormitory. He realizes that her parents are more concerned about themselves than the girl. In the end, she decides to stay and says she will enjoy her stay there and will also make friends, something she achieves by the end of the episode.
