| After having dropped 2 animes the past month, I needed something that looked poised to offer good impact and enjoyment, so I decided to finally watch this. 20:30 and onward where the music cuts in felt as if I was in a fever dream (in a very good way); the art style, the aesthetics, the 4:3 aspect ratio, all of it just felt perfect in that moment. Looking forward to the rest of the show. |

| I heard a lot about this and I'm very familiar with the OP so I'm glad that I finally decided to watch it. Visuals and animation are absolute beautiful, especially if you look at the time where this came out, crazy. Both Spike and Jet are pretty cool characters and the story takes place in space which is also exciting for me. Not sure where this will go from now on but it definitely caught my full interest. |

| Been planning to watch this for a while, and this just happened to be the time. The intro and outro are pretty good, and the artwork is mostly well done (as can be expected for an anime of this time period). The episode felt well paced, the villain was just threating enough, and there were some interesting twists. Like the woman's "bump" being a disguised stash of bullets. That being said, it was a little dull for a first episode, and I could see how some might feel dissatisfied with the lack of progress at the end. Looking forward to the next episode! |

| The OP is epiccc and so is Spike! I really thought that the woman was pregnant. But anyways seeing them die was rather melancholic. Feels good to hear the iconic "See you later space cowboy" dialogue. The fight scenes are SO well-animated! |

| This was a feast to both my eyes and my ears. It felt like heaven and everything was close to perfection. Keeping the characters a mistery and having the first episode be a classic spaghetti western tale with a twist was a great move. It definetly made me curious about everyone's past and how they got where they are and what they'll do in the future, which we have 25 episodes left to show us. And also I LOVE THE JAZZ!! |

| Rewatching it after 8 years after just finishing the live action adaptation. I have a feeling I'm going to appreciate the series and the messages it's trying to tell us a lot more now. Definitely a fantastic start and sets the mood straight away, jazzy music, not needing an insane amount of dialogue to establish the world it's showing us, just great. |

| I loved this episode, especially the ending. It set the tone right from the start that this isn't a story about your typical do-good heroes. And that even if you try to do the "right thing", it doesn't always end happily. Very real, and very intriguing. |

| Watching dubbed with a friend. Almost feels alien after having watched subs for so long. Good first episode, packed with action, humour and even tragedy, probably the entire tone of the series? Dialogue is good. The plot is, yeah, it exists. |

| Finally getting around to watching this after god knows how long. I will say, it was an impactful first episode. Definitely left an impression. |

| Giving this show another shot. Nothing really stood out here, except for the excellent animation. Jazz and music were good but rather generic. I guess Jet and Spike are a decent pair, but we didn't get to see enough of that. Oh well, this show still has 25 more episodes to get good. |

Generiz jazz, huh? Why dont you give an example of not-generic jazz then or are you just coping with the fact you don't like jazz at all to begin with?
| @Dowapo Louis Armstrong's music is non-generic jazz. Especially since he was a pioneer of the genre. |
