Pretty nice development on Siegfried, other than that I would like to see how that plan worked in a better explained way.

Cool to see Siegried getting some development. Although that plan was pretty poorly explained.

How he won wasn't really well explained.

This definitely did feel like a side story, nonetheless the pacing is pretty good so far. Sieggy getting appointed to Vice-Admiral was pronounced so it was to be expected. To the battle of Iserlohn!

Annerose's words to the Siegfried will be noted. 3.5/5 Episode.

Cool , we get to see Siegfried in action , so where are the slow episodes ? I have been told that the beginning is rough and slow , till now the beginning is very good.

Lesson Learned : People lie :3
Given the right situation , the right story , anyone can be shaped into Snake.

I think they compared the later episodes to the earlier ones and considered it to be slow? And they are probably not used to seeing an anime like this. Lots of talking, not much action as compared to other anime.

Siegfried! What a victory~

I wish there was a better explanation on how that plan worked.

Very simply, the only problem is that such particles don't really exist,
so it's hard to comprehend the whole situation.
But basically, Siegfried ordered ships to disperse Zephyr particles all over that Necklace.
And those particles are apparently explosive even without any oxygen,
because I think that was a legit explosion, I don't know what else it could've been.
The explosion was triggered by that fat guy's troops' firing,
which happened because Siegfried ordered his troops to move closer to the enemy.
I think. :)

I couldn't help but lol when that fat bastard Kastrop got back stabbed. Especially when he was like "Ladies, come to me!" and they pick up dining knives.

It's as Reinhard says, Kircheis is a good man. I had a good feeling about him ever since he'd proven to be a commander who understood his subordinates. Good to see that he isn't simply the sidekick.

Siegfried wins the day with technobabble...what a genius?

Or, like with Reinhard in the first two episodes, he just seems to have a basic grasp of the capabilities at his disposal. It makes them seem competent, not ingenious, and their lessers seem unbelievably incompetent.

I look a little askance at how much time is spent with the rebel lord since he's a pretty bland character but the whole situation ties into Annerose's fear by illustrating what happens to those who try to upend the status quo for their own purposes and fail. Reinhard is much smarter than this fool but if he fails in his ambitions maybe he'll also get torn apart by his allies. Besides Siegfried they're all just hanging onto him because he's been a winner.

lol the Julius Caesar reenactment there.

and it seems like Phezzan is intentionally doing what they can to keep the war balanced to draw it out as long as possible since they are profiting from doing business on both sides.

Gotta love the fact that even the women joined in on the "stabbing session" xD

I won't lie though, Siegried's composure is kinda eerie at times.

Ancient Greek temples, people dressed like ancient Greeks, whip, daggers... am I still watching a sci-fi show? 5 episodes in, but not really convinced about the quality of this series yet...

That 'Necklace' planetary defence should be an easy prey to any long-range weapon system. I don't think it'd take a strategic mastermind to figure that out.

There is nothing impressive about using a new weapon that no one knows how to defend against. This episode did nothing to show that Kirchies is actually competent as a commander, only to show he is a kind man.

Anyone want some more caesar allegories?

Anna is worried about her brother. Dunno how this will go. Mixed feelings.

Let's see if the next episode is exciting. This episode was boring with the Zephyr particles.

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

Nice side-story allowing Kircheis to prove himself but it looks like the battle of Iserlohn will never appear on the screen !

3/5 The Julius death is a nice reference, but would have looked better without the antique clothes.

Despite being an episode unrelated to the main story, the episode was more than interesting. The episode manages to fit together well during the narration various aspects, ranging from the political one, to the human one and ending with the characterization of the characters; in the meantime the plot advances more than well. The quote with the death of Caesar is striking.

Compared to the remake, I gotta say that I prefer the portrayal of Castrop and how he was lynched in this version.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Despite the weird parallel between Reinhard and Kastrop (which is fine, but doesn't work very well since Reinhard is way smarter than that buffoon), this episode was pure filler, and one of the worst of this whole series. I should have skipped it.

How that guy was stabbed by his followers kind of reminded me of a scene in "Julius Cesar" when the Cesar is stabbed by the members of the government.

Castrop the Greco-Roman LARPer, tries to rebel against a centuries old empire founded by Rudolf, a Prussian LARPer. This is an era where entire planets are named after humans...

Reinhard sends Kircheis off. With small numbers, the fleet attacks (or in this case sabotage) individual components of the enemy. From fleets of ships at Astarte to the satellites that form the necklace around planet Castrop...

Fezzan's leaders are watching the conflict closely.

The assassination of Castrop by multiple stabbings was absolutely kino. Great episode.

A foreshadowing and a clumsy reference to the assassination of Julius Caesar.
I wish the particles thingy was better explained but at least wew got to see a bit more of Sieg peronnality through his actions.

felt this episode was really fast paced.
it felt really fast in how sieg explained his tactics, well, he didn't lol.
anarose's discussion with siege also felt really fast, dunno if it was in purpose or the anarose's seyuu just isn't good, sige's voice was much better.

at any rate, we did see that reinhard isn't smart by himself.
i also loved how in the empire if you doing things against the empire you will be eliminated lol. in the free planets alliance, how i see it, you have the "free to have your own rebellions, and that's your own freedom".

Wow, so Siegfried will most likely have to pull the trigger if Reinhard loses his way.
The whole universe has been unique i say. We had the Empire with several inspirations of different cultures i feel. They mention the Tsar which is Russian i believe and it feels very German-esque whereas the opposing side is an alliance of nations and in the middle is just, a merchant nation, profiitng from both sides.
And in this ep, we got a massive ring satellite that got destroyed by some type of explosive gas in space. It felt like, "Oh, we have this solution to this problem" that really doesnt explain too much but ill let it slide.
It was unique seeing the Roman attire and turns out, it had meaning as we had them play out Caesars death in Julius Caesar. Im ok with anime pulling this off.
