| I don't think it looks ugly because it was made by AI (you can find plenty of AI generated animated content that is good to look at even now), the aesthetics of the movie was decided and approved by humans. Yes, it looks absolutely shit and cheap, and seems like a contender for the lowest scored anime on MAL. |

| It has to be more than just mainstream that looks good but that's all you asked so I couldn't vote 'yes', and I couldn't vote 'no' because I don't hate ai so I didn't vote at all. But this IS very interesting to see how things are gonna turn out from this point on. |

| So it's basically AlwaysBreaktime with more polygons and a bit more nuanced lighting. No to mention the story itself is so absurdly edgy that's practically a comedy. Is that made by teens while chilling after classes? |

The Annecy Festival and Marcel Jean (artistic director) would like to respond to this programming choice. https://twitter.com/annecyfestival/status/1791142871506035119 I won't comment on the animation since (although it looks fucking terrible) is not the main problem The problem here is direction, cinematography, set design which (hey maybe that's just a bad trailer) look boring and souless (and i'm simplifying to just the 3 main issues) In comparison, take something like Revisions, nowhere near the best animation, but the project is helmed by a talanted director who can get the best out of the story together with the rest of the team There's certain things AI is just not realy for, and likely won't be for a veeeeery long time, until i see R2D2 and Comander Data walking among us you're not convincing me otherwise... |
