I didn't find the omnibuses hard to read personally. my only gripe was two page spreads, sometimes being ruined.

They aren’t the worst format, but the pages are so thin and then the book itself is very thick that its awkward to hold. Plus the art is fantastic so Id love a better look at the spreads like you said
