What do you not know about gambling ?

It's just about wagering something to try to win something else wagered by someone else.
Popular games of gamblings are Poker , or Football , but here it's not that at all , Kaiji use weird games where they gambles their lifes.
The only thing you need to know is how Rock Paper Scissor is played , and even that is explained in the series.

True Akagi is a Mahjong series with the same author as Kaiji. From what I understand the next major arc game after season 2 conclusion isn’t Mahjong but a modified game of it. 17 steps Minefield Mahjong.

Only if you want to continue the manga where the anime ends. The rest of the “games” are far simpler and easy to understand.

Yeah youll be fine. None of the games in Kaiji are traditional really, but they wjll explain the rules and mechanics of each gamble as the show goes on.

I had no idea about gambling when i watched it and still don't but I love the anime. Though season 2 got a bit tedious at the end, but definitely a good anime! Watch it.
