| Welp, Nicol was the "nice guy" of the bunch. He somewhat annoyed me, with his homolust for Athrun. Also, it was funny see the the parents' reactions when Cagalli hugged Kira. THEIR SHOCKED FACES! At least that's another love triange resolved. I doubt Kira needed to go berserk there, the battle didn't seem that hard, and Kira wasn't really in danger, nor was anybody 'close' to him in danger. I don't think he activates it by choice, you know. Looks like Athrun won't be holding back against Kira anymore though. |

Here the director decided to make the show more dramatic to appeal to the emotions of the viewers to advance the story, but didn't take into account something as simple as the character's history because he/she thinks the viewers are idiots. Oh yeah I noticed this too. Kira did feel horrible for killing that one other guy that was Athrun's friend back in Heliopolis. But he sure didn't feel bad for killing the other ZAFT force in the desert. |

| Of course Nicol is the one to die, he is not a racist warmonger idiot like the rest of the group (save Athrun). This is Gundam at its core, the really good guys on either side get killed. |

| Great. They kill a bonafide nice guy like Nicol and a homicidal moron like Yzak lives. Why do you do this Gundam scriptwriters? The story is much more interesting when you have likeable characters on each side. It makes it all the more complex. At least now Athrun will go crazy after Kira and the stakes will be raised. I got spoiled on Cagalli and Kira, so the reveal this chapter was not as strong as it should have been. I wonder how they'll explain that Cagalli doesn't look anything like Kira's parents? |

| Narration melancholy but not without action, beautiful confrontation in which besides the fighting we are witness to the passing of Nicol; what a pity I was sympathetic. Drawings and animations good. I thought this episode would be seen in the new MS, are a little sad. |

First, Although he doesn't know nicol personally he knows he's athrun's friend - meaning Kira knows he just killed someone close to athrun, meaning athrun will hate him more, and kira obviously doesn't want that, because up until now, fighting was just a job - not personal. Second, Kira can still respect him as a pilot. This goes back to something LaFlaga said earlier, it's easier to kill someone you don't know. Even though Kira didn't know 'for sure' he was fighting the desert fox, he could tell by his skill. Similarly, kira would have respect for the pilot of the mobile suit he went to battle with multiple times. Nicol is less of a nameless face if you will, because his face is attached to the mobile suit. make sense? |
| YES!! Finally! A reason to actually enjoy SEED again! The action was better than the other episodes, we finally have a good OP AND good ED, and the way the characters reacted to Nicol's death, now I am beginning to see why people like this show! R.I.P. Nicol P.S. Hopefully Flay and Yzak follow suit...soon... |
