I dont know i want to love this show but so far i find the premise to be too generic, maybe its one of those anime about the journey and character develepment of the protagonist.

MAPPA is becoming what i feared whent they started picking many projects, i feel that animation during fights scenes are gonna be so disappointing, JJK and CSM despite being good anime with incredible animation, i feel like anime froù studio pierrot high moments will always be better than mappa, When JJK season 1 was airing and people were praising it at the second coming of christ, Mushoku Tensei was having the best animation that season, same way bleach ridiculed CSM last year.
agree on Mushoku Tensei but CSM had better animation than bleach TYBW

Sagiri complaining about Gabi wearing the ropes was beyond infuriating and completely ruined the episode.

The setting alone I think makes the anime worth watching. The island's creatures and it's way of turning humans to flowers. False beauty is a good way to describe the island. The animation and story so far are also amazing. And I do think this show will produce some feelsy moments. So far excellent

I guess eyepatch dying right off the boat makes sense. They showed him off in the last episode, establishing him as a notable Asaemon. Hit him with the worf effect.

Pretty inconsistent defense from gabimaru though. At first he explained that he dislocated his neck to escape the hit from the chain ball. Then he just tanks it with his head anyways and breaks it.

Thought it was goofy that the samurai criminal cut off his hand because of a stinging butterfly, only to see a countless amount of them flying everywhere. Unless everyone has got some bubble shield, then they would basically be unavoidable.

It'll be interesting to see how all the characters handle the pretty bad odds of survival on the island.

Wow, I thought to my buttons, this red haired guy seems my type, definitely gonna be the season's husbaaaaand------ddd he is gone. That was fucking fast, kinda feeling cheated here.
Where can I send my letter of disapproval to.

3/5 episode. Sagiri being so illogical and naive kinda got on my nerves and Gabimaru hesitating to kill her after having brutally murdered around 20 people last episode felt particularly forced. I know the episode tackled that issue but the guy is so brutal with his opponents I find it hard to believe he actually feels bad while doing it. I mean, only 3-5 guys attacked Gabimaru last episode yet he ended up slaughtering all of the remaining criminals and now he just massacred the monk criminal in the most excessive way possible. So yeah, hard to take his supposed regret seriously.
Fully agreed with everything you listed. Had their confrontation been a bit more towards mid season, maybe then could have cared or believed in any sort of unspoken connection between them... However just moments ago she was fine with him being plumed to dead so long as he had his hands tied.
There has literally been nothing to support this weird connection between them yet.

Tamiya guy ended up looking pretty interesting however, how fast he was to make that call and just slice his hand off as it was nothing.

This episode delivered a lot, how we say here "outra pedrada".

More conflict between Gabimaru e Sagiri e this time was so wow, this kind of thing goes to a way more emotional than just fights, are great at here.

Really curious about the "ecchi power" in the future cause every time is possible, Sagiri is on fire on ecchi.

One of the best shoots:

Best episode so far. It proved that the ninja could kill even this samurai girl with ease, but he doesn't want to. Him sitting on top of her was iconic. He's superior! And she ended up being saved by a popular Japanese saying that says that the woman (wife) is the scabbard of the man's sword. And a man without a scabbard (wife) is a crazy sword! It was such a meaningful scene that it was worth every second!

In some ways, this anime is a generic shonen and in others it completely subverts the formula. I did not expect so many of the interesting characters to die in a short montage in episode 3 to replace them with other people of Gabimaru's caliber and some amazingly designed monsters.

The battle royale moments are better than the attempts at being emotional & philosophical. The latter is already getting repetitive in a way and we're only three episodes in.

Honestly, the two previous episodes were waaay batter than this one.
At first I thought that Gabimaru and the other guy were gonna spend the episode fighting, thank god they didn't, but still, it all felt rushed to me, I would have preferred that they explored the island first.
On the other hand, I kinda liked Sagiri and Gabimaru's fight because I really thought that they would spend the whole season to understand what both of them understood in this episode, so it was nice.
But, overall, it didn't leave me stunned as the first and second episodes did.

This episode was very entertaining to watch, yet... felt weird a little.

I liked all twists, in example rapid decrease of amount of people searching for the fruit. That Asaemon with an eyepatch getting killed so easily by the very same convict he was to oversee was unexpected and surprising, given how he seemed to have been presented as somebody being rather formidable. But apparently, he was not. Heck, he even got eaten by the same guy who murdered him. It had looked like the most interesting part of the episode, but it got easily topped later on, when these bizarre looking creatures out of nightmares have appeared. Butterflies infecting human bodies, huge centipedes, giant, humanoid fish monster... Everyone having elements resembling of humans (feet, fingers, etc.). Truly Hell's Paradise, haha.

At the same time, I felt like the whole conversation between Gabimaru and Sagiri felt hmm... off? Out of place? Like, I get there was a meaning behind their words, important for mutual character growth. It just looked unnatural to me, even silly when beaten up Sagiri didn't use her opportunity to do something. Anything. React. She started acting after "character development chitchat". I know it's a shounen and such elements are common in that type of shows, but I like when they are done well. Here, unfortunately, they were not.

The red head that was talking so high and mighty already bit the dust? I spit on his corpse.
The "fight" against the Benkei reference was fun, just casually dislocate your own neck, no big deal.
Good episode overall, can't shake the feeling that the wife is already dead, the clan leader seems like the kind of guy who'd do that.

Absolutely loving this anime! As a manga reader I'm so satisfied to see that they're this faithful to the source material! Wouldn't expect anything less from mappa!

So, we got to see Gabimaru action again! As the fight ended too soon it felt like! I could have sworn the manga fight was a bit longer but it's not that big a deal. We now know the difference between HIM and the average criminal.

We also got some insane character development with Gabimaru again accepting his own feeling and realizing he's not the hollow criminal he thinks he is and that he's been suffering too.

And at the end the most interesting thing was those creepy bugs! Like bruh, those were some "ugly bastard" bugs! The guy cutting of his hand had some crazy guts too! Good for him.

Can't wait for the next episode!

This episode was awesome! I'm seriously loving this show so far

This Other Side is really reminding me of the Hallow from Terraria. It looks beautiful and heavenly at first, until things start shooting and attacking you. Those creatures though 0_0 I did not want to see butterflies with human faces on them or centipedes with weird hands on them LOL just thinking about them is making me shiver

Also I was not expecting that many people to be dead already. Like that assassin and the cannibal lady, I thought they were going to be around a bit longer, but whatever. Also really interested in seeing that guy who cut their hand off. They seem pretty sharp in the way they cut their hand in time to avoid getting overgrown

Forget the shogun, the first thing Sagiri should learn is common sense. I think they went a bit too philosophical in this episode. Would have been more effective sometime later down the season. It doesn't help that some of the faces felt very off in this episode, especially that purple guy.

On the plus side, we are getting to know more about the island.
