I'm just curious whether people who rewatch naruto... (or even watching it for the first time if that applies to you) - do you skip the filler episodes?

Yeah 100% skip the fillers, I did watch some but they all were very bad but not as bad as the series itself.

As someone currently watching naruto, I never actually bothered with the filler the first time because I knew it technically wasn't relevant to the story. I was wondering if it was a bad move or not but I'm getting the idea that it's just down to personal preference!

I watched every single episode of Naruto & Shippuden. I don't regret watching the filler. But if you want to skip it that fine too.

When I do re watch it I'll definitely skip fillers though. Maybe catch 1 or 2 of the filler arcs in part 1. But I'll probably skip all filler in Shippuden (maybe watch Jiraiya's Ninja Scrolls Arc)

Yup I personally did skip all the fillers and I did the same with Bleach as well.

Gintama is the only exception, where even the fillers are gold aside from the general Sol comedic episodes.

I would definitely skip the filler, as a person who was 100% committed and watched all of naruto/shippudens filler I can confirm it was painful. Shippuden filler was better than og naruto but still hard. The only way I got through original naruto filler was by watching 5 a day then watching manga canon shippuden for the rest of the day.

Btw I watched all of naruto for the first time this year.

Please stop, I don’t want to see any more Dekugo😭

Thanks for this, I think I will completely miss naruto filler lol. I was debating watching it since I'm 44/220 already and haven't yet seen any of it! But yeah I think it's a good miss unless I'm really bored one day haha

in my 1st run through, I admit I skipped some filler episodes but I still went through Wikipedia and followed the plot. I'm gonna rewatch some fillers that I missed bc some were important backstory that I just wasn't bothered enough to watch

I'm in ep 155/500 of Naruto Shippuden and have watched all filler episodes of Shippuden till now. I must say that unlike Naruto fillers (which were solely meant for comedic purposes) Shippuden fillers actually serve a purpose - giving character development to other characters, introducing cool abilities and adding continuity to the story.

When I started naruto I don’t even know what filler were so I watched the evry episode of naruto, naruto shippuden and boruto (till ep 240) but if I rewatch I skip fillers.

When I watched the original Naruto I watched it with all the fillers. Honestly it was probably a mistake because it gave me burnout for the series as a whole and I dropped Shippuden about 120 episodes through and have yet to pick it back up after about 2 years

I watched all the fillers for the original Naruto and for Shippuden. I loved every second of them. Yes, they’re not relevant to the story but the fillers gave me more time with the characters. There’s also a ton of goofy ones and sometimes I needed a good laugh after intense canon episodes.

I feel you, I can sense when it’s filler in the past because it gets a bit boring almost? But shippuden is definitely something you’ll wanna pick back up when the times right :)

Skip all of the fillers.
They are boring and contribute nothing to the series
But there are some exceptions

You may or may not skip the following arcs of Shippuden:

• Three tails search/crystal user arc (around episode 90, Shippuden)
• Kakashi's ANBU arc is based on the Light Novels and is rather interesting (episodes 349-361, Shippuden)
• Itachi's backstory, also based on Light Novels (episodes 451-458, Shippuden)

Now this one, you must NOT skip. It's really good, especially with the animation:

• The Power Arc (episodes 290-295, Shippuden)

They break up continuity more than anything as often if an arcs long enough but needed a filler season to avoid catching up to the manga and then naruto drops everything to help someone who has no relevance to the plot like an average skyrim playthrough

I watched them all. Some of them are decent, heartwarming even but some just annoyed me lol. I think some filler eps are alright every now and then but it gets concerning when 50% of the show is just pure filler (OG Naruto).

I skip most filler, but sometimes I do give it a chance. Usually it sucks. Shippuden has some good filler arcs though

Some of them were decent, which were mostly fillers that built upon the lore instead of showing some bullshit ass side quest.
Kakashi Anbu arc or the Indra Ashura arc were pretty dope. Itachi's too, if that counts.

When I watched naruto I didn’t skip any fillers. Yeah they were mostly useless and a waste of time but some of them can be interesting. For the sake of watching all eps I’d probably do the same for any first time anime. If I do rewatch I would probably skip them all.

I watched when it was still airing so I did watch most of the filler. If I had to rewatch I would definitely skip most of them.

I just went through the filler arc list and I can’t believe there’s some with 20 episodes which is 5 weeks of non-canon episodes. Some that I have gone through which is sick.

It feels good to remember how pissed I was😭

actually filler episodes r just for fun its just more content but these extra content are not canon if u just wanna watch it for fun then sure i personally skipped it because i felt that they were irrelevant but. yea itis all personal preference

When I watched naruto many years ago (after it had been completed) I watched with the sole mission to complete. So I skipped any filler I could. Now as a fan, when I go back, I watch filler to enjoy. That’s my ninja way. Lol

if you're rewatching just skip it. it's boring. but if you are watching for the first time just give it a chance. there are some filler episodes with better animation and very good story

Depends on the filler arc to be honest. There are some pretty good ones like the return of Mizuki, and then there are pretty fucking bad ones like the sleepless arc of shippuden. Most of the time I’ll watch them for OG Naruto though, they usually hold up a bit better.

There’s a a few filler parts in shippuden I’d recommend such as the itachi/kakashi one and also the creation of ninshu during the final stages of the war is dope.

The end of the series adapts a bunch of novels too set between naruto and boruto!
