Question about this anime, is it just a simple horror story like another where people die left and right and thats kinds the plot, or is it a anime with a good plot, interesting characters etc?

Definitely the latter. People die, sure, but not everyone. The show mainly uses themes of humanity and parasitism to tell the story.

The latter one, but it is not as deep as people think it is. Simply shows that people can be parasytes themselves, and finding the true reason for parasytes to live, which is never actually answered completely. Like, it's easy to understand, and enjoyable too, but starting was better than ending

People just watch the show like how hard can it be and then post later what you think how the fuck you going to know if it is deep or not or kiling left right if you watch 2 or 3 ep like come on

even if I don't use aot as an example it would still remain a shoumen Anime.I was gonna use Tokyo ghoul as an example cause it's most compared to parasyte,but it's also a seinen sooo..

not my words,it's the words of the people who have watched both
I've not seen aot but I've seen parasyte and it's darkness and gore for the complete 24eps

i have seen both dude.
aot IS darker. in multiple ways.
However I don't want to turn this forum into parasyte vs aot.
btw Tokyo ghoul is also darker than parasyte.
saying it cause you mentioned that anime earlier.
Jason's torture scene still gives me goosebumps.
however parasyte is overall better than Tokyo ghoul.

It's feels more like a gory super hero show than a horror to be honest. You have alien parasytes as the enemies and a half human half parasyte guy as the protagonist who kicks alien parasytes ass. It explores the same themes as many stories like this usually does. Like weather the protagonist is loosing his humanity or are the aliens truly bad or are humans just similar to these aliens. You can watch it if you like stuff like that. It's a pretty decent watch.

I mean Parasyte is a solid show and all, and worth the watch, but it’s not very complex in the grand scheme of things. I think comparing this series to Attack on Titan is an odd choice since AOT is much more subtle and thematically rich compared to the relatively simple theming and characterization of Parasyte. I mean there is some complexity but the main character straight up explains the whole point of the show in a kind of contrived monologue towards the end. As for the darkness and gore, it is there but it’s nothing super out of the ordinary. So my advice is watch the show just to enjoy it, and don’t try to compare it to other things. It’s just simply it’s own world that you will probably enjoy watching for the 20 something episodes.

people die but that's not the main thing, more of a consequence of the main plot. show is good, it definitely has a story and decent characters, give er a try

Some people die, but it does have good plot and characters. And the two main characters are amazingly written. It also has a really good message.
