Yeah, I was also wondering why there's no Youmu & Yuyuko vs Sakuya & Remilia, but that's why.

It's actually understandable, because it takes a lot of time to make such a good animation.
In addition, the fact that it tries to adapt itself to the story makes the time pass even more.

Let's be patient until then, I think.

Well, I watched...

Well, I have to admit, it was really good to watch this, it was really exciting, and I was quite nervous about the duo of Youmu and Yuyuko.
(Because, well, Youmu and Yuyuko... XD)

But overall, I really like these animations and thank you again for the link! :D

Unfortunately, I haven't seen the video yet, but I was also impressed by YouTube.
But I'm going to watch it tonight anyway, because I'm quite interested. :D

Yes, Minus T makes VERY good Touhou animations, I can see the time he put into his work and I love watching his animations many times.
The fact that it's completely original makes me want to watch it even more. XD

If you thought your recommendations were shoddy, why share them?

I am done with Violence & Peace. It was more of a philosophical manga, and I genuinely didn't get many of the chapters. The art was quite good, though, which is rare (for me) when it comes to early 2000s manga.

I added most of those manga to my list. I've already read Hoshi no Koe (Voices of a Distant Star) and I enjoyed it. I do find it funny that the only BL you recommended to me ended up being a BL from a mangaka whose art style I do not like. Art is pretty important for me, which is why I rarely enjoy pre 2010 manga of any genre. This mangaka makes wild proportions in her art, reminiscent of the "yaoi hands" stereotype. I'll let you know what I thought of the other manga as and when I read them.

Okay so I read My Broken Mariko and I'm surprised the mangaka chose comedic panels right next to ones that discussed rape, murder and death. They took away from the seriousness of the manga and honestly, they added nothing to the story. The bestie could have simply not overreacted and the plot would have moved along at exactly the same pace, with no difference in the theme of the story.

Do you have any short manga recommendations for me? No slice of life, romance or anything overly dramatic/emotional. I'd prefer something less than 15 chapters.

Wow. 100 chapters is "average" for you? I'd classify that as super long lol. I mostly stick to 15 chapters or less, because I have a poor attention span.

I mean, "mainstream" is a very nice way of saying "Generic garbage". I mean, just look at any top rate shounen, shoujo, ecchi or isekai anime. They have the same basic story, same characters and same "depth" in those characters.

Do you like to read longer stories or shorter ones? I prefer short ones, since I have a poor attention span

I just looked at your manga stats. Impressive.
It's good to see someone who reads more than they watch, especially seeing how most of the good content is buried away in manga, never to be greenlit as an anime series.

Heh the entire lore of ZUN's Music Albums in general is obscure, most people wouldn't go to the music albums for plot. In fact I don't know that much about it either.

New music album release after 8 years (excluding Rainbow-Colored Septentrion) featuring the theme of separation.
Heh hyping the album so much I might have to check it once it's released. In fact maybe all of them. XD
Recent games seem pretty rushed unthinkably.
Or just his writing is not as good as it used to. Either way 17+ games does not feel as good as the previous ones esp plotwise.
2024 also marked the recurrent year of sage revelation: Yukari (2003), Kasen (2010), Okina (2017), ? (2024)

  • This year is the year of the dragon and he always misses on the years of the dragon in the past (even with spinoffs). So either something big or nothing

Hah yee exactly that in fact I also expected nothing from it (esp after earlier eps) but it was actually great xD. And the creator did return to the series (after 7 years) with 3 trailers of the final part with actually decent artstyle tho still similiar to the early ones.
