George Morikawa (mangaka of Hajime no Ippo) asked Murata if ONE no longer writes the OPM manga. Murata replied saying ONE made the changes.

| Even if ONE did make the changes, maybe Murata's input might've helped create them since they are now a mangaka team. Now I don't really read the webnovel or the manga, but I really didn't enjoy the tournament arc in season 2 and I think it would've done better pacing wise without it. |
