So, basically you mean this is the only anime that have sexual assault?
Please watch Sword Art Online Progressive, it's the peak of SAO.

Shitty excuse for fanservice; nothing more, nothing less.

Sexual Assault has generally been the most popular plot device in fiction to make you care about the character that gets assaulted.

SAO, however, does it for dem hornies.

It’s used as a plot device in many shows that sort of makes you feel bad for the victim and make you hate the bad guy even more but when it comes SAO it kinda feels unnecessary like I was gonna recommend SAO to my little sister a few years ago for her first anime then I remember all those scenes and though to myself no

is the author had a rape fetish like Go Nagai who had a S&M fetish?

Rape scenes is actually one of the quickest ways to get attention on social media. The author actually was inspired from rape scenes from other shows and wanted to use it in his own work (SAO). After that he just used it as a tool to get attention time to time.

Also the plot is so trashy that scenes like this overtake the whole story in terms of audience's attention. Just like how JOJO memes made the anime/manga popular.

drama. you'll hate the assaulter more and feel sympathy for assultee more. It's got nothing to do with fetish. The Asuna getting assaulted is straight up copied from berserk manga. That scene sold the story at that point. This is an attempt to achieve something similar fashion. nothing related to fetish

Obvious giveaway, that author doesn't even know what to do.

I can understand the whole bad guys do bad things but they could have implied that that happened instead of showing it in great detail, Maybe there’s a cut version of SAO cause it’s definitely a good starting anime in the action category since all she watches is romance

It doesn't matter
Watch it if you want or skip it
Its just that It will in season 1 gives you more reason to hate that fairy king guy (same for other season) but I particularly mentioned season 1 cuz of Asuna and I want that guy to be killed in anime ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก

Berserk does it too, but u don't see people complaining about that. Double Standards ๐Ÿฅฒ

The world of berserk is extremely dark and it is something the could have happened in such a world. The scene weren't even meant as fan service unlike SAO.

The problem is that SAO is extremely unrealistic because of it's bland characters and lack of proper dialogues that actually provides something about the character — simply said, lack of characterization and depth.

It’s a little concerning that you take such an interest in this and not the actual show itself. Just watch a show that’s Ecchi. No one will care. But it was slightly alarming to me as well…. Didn’t the creator have to come out and apologize about the one in Alicizaton a few years ago? It was like a big deal.

Honestly it's probably just the limitations of the writer with how he makes the audience understand that a character is an unforgivable villain. You see it a lot in things like amateur B-movies to, not just anime, where they have a rape scene involving the antagonist so that you immediately dislike them. I'm not saying that all examples of this can be considered as "bad writing", as I'm sure there have been many things that have used this trope effectively, but in SAO, because it happens so often and always in such a forced way, I can only conclude that the writer himself probably doesn't really know how to make a complex villain and just sticks to what he knows will work on the most basic level

Author used to read those old pre LN stuff which used to have lot of rape fetishes to create cheap drama. It become a habit he inherited in those works which amalgamated with his style and modern standard and came out as what u are seeing now. (I assume in the old works he read multiple rape scene used to happen frequently, but his modernized version it becomes attempted which comes out as fan service).

He have already told that in a interview when asked about the recent alicization attempted rape scene controversy.

Reki hasn’t written a scene like that in 17 years. He’s gone off on Twitter and apologized for having relied on scenes like that for drama when he was less experienced. The scene in Season 3 was anime original.

Don’t throw that at Reki.

In case of Eugeo how you make a character like him not only violate the taboo index something he is very devout about following and also push passed the worst pain he’s ever felt. You make him witness the worst thing he’s ever seen being done to someone he cares a lot about. For his character arch to continue he needed that push. You might not like but it’s a great plot device.

Jesus christ, it took me over a year for my brain cells to process the motherfuckers in this thread saying that rape is okay, and if you don't like it, go watch whatever shit they're airing on current day cartoon network. Sorry the author threw in rape scenes for the fuck of it, i'm sure you enjoy it so you can self insert yourself cause that's the closest you'll ever get to a woman. Also, it's rated PG-13, you might see it as R rated, maybe the R stands for rape in your mind, or maybe you're diagnosed with a certain R word disorder.

Sorry, I forgot that when Godzilla last attacked japan, he used his tentacles to rape numerous amounts of women since, y'know, it happens in real life as well right? I'm so infatuated with japanese culture that I rewatch the godzilla attack videos like conspiracy theorists in america watch tower 7 documentaries, or the fact they keep watching the bigfoot video because it so closely resembles their memory of when their father, in a drunken rage, stormed out of the house with no clothes, covered in hair, and then wrapped his car around a lightpole with 8 open bottles in the passenger baby seat.

Hey man, i'm just wondering at what age you were exposed to sexual stuff, I am honestly of the opinion that a PG-13 show should try not to feature rape or tentacle fantasies, every season! Similar to how when you went to the gas station once every week to get a breakfest sandwich and a orange juice, the man behind the counter kept a eye on you while the chores were done in the back.

I'll be back.

There can't be SAO without a rape scene.

Not to mention that the series is PG 13, intended for a teenagers. I'm sure you don't want your kiddos watching a porn related stuff, if you had a good moral

Your grammar is as shitty as your thread.

At least i'm more mature than you. You calling me a Twitter user while using a "shitty grammar" argument against a non native speaker, just like any Twitter users do. Couldn't you provide any counter argument because i was stating facts, or because you're too dumb to argue with me? Too bad, kid. I'm so sorry if i have a decent brain, unlike you, who has a dysfunctional one.

Here's the statement that might have one or more grammatical errors. I edited the reply because it seems like you're taking a break from studying english and got permission from your mama to explore the internet. Find the errors, i give you 5 minutes. Good luck, my student.
