Its fantastic how the last panel manages to be simultaneously hilarious as a punchline but also incredibly cathartic as a way of showing Yuta moving on from Eri. Fujimoto masterclass again.

I really don't know how to feel about the last page lol
This is an amazing one-shot made by the god fujimoto tatsuki himself.

I liked this alot more than Look Back. Fujimoto really is a creative mangaka I'f love a fleshed out series from him like this if he ever makes one in the future

err this is another mind fuck one shot from this author, it really has some fantasy on it

filming the life before death of your love ones with some added fantasy

but nah that Eri in the end is just his hallucination for sure but he overcome that hallucination by countering it with another hallucination of an explosion just like what happened with her moms death recording

I wonder if Fujimoto will start dabbling in anime himself if this keeps up (the cinematic themes, I mean). I can see him drawing a storyboard and all that. Kinda like Satoshi Kon switched from manga to anime (check out his Opus if you like Eri, by the way).

This would indeed look pretty interesting animated/filmed. Very romantic.

I'm not sure about this one. I prefer Look Back, tbh.
Maybe I need to watch more movies.
Or maybe I just too dumb to understand.

How much of it is purely fantasy, and how much of it is just editing? I'm of the opinion that the movie never stopped filming until the very end.

This is cinema. I expect nothing less from Fujimoto.
As someone who loves watching movies, this ome really hits the spot. Fujimoto taking a different spin on the narrtive; sprinkle it in with a twist towards the end...

That was such a fucking rollercoaster i can't believe it was only a one shot with very limited dialogue it felt so much longer. The way it totally makes you question whats real and what was the movie like Eri said she liked about Yuta's movie was spectacularly done. The last double spread was the hardest laugh ive had in a while to boot.

Great shit, fujimoto has come so far since fire punch its unreal.

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

Loved this. It pulls of the sixth sense style twist masterfully. I read it back to back twice and it honestly feels like I read two completely different stories. Its so much fun trying to parse out the pinches of reality from the fantasy the MC creates for his film. Keep the hits coming, this really is a master of the medium in his prime.

This was the first thing I ever read from Fujimoto-sensei and oh wow this was an interesting first impression from the guy's works for me. It's been ages since I read...quite an interesting but somewhat weird one shot, it feels like I have returned to the good interesting days of the one shots that I did read back in 2013. :)

"And then Caesar wept..."

Fujimoto is the Alexander of manga, everyone else are Caesars.
When one publishes is glory, the others can only contort themselves in frustration with their pittance of being.

I might be bugging but I’m not getting the hype for this? Mfs writing dissertation about the multi layered narrative and while it was unique, the story is still nothing masterful. It definitely had me glued to it and I did largely enjoy it, but shit was too weird/confusing for me to get into it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

It doesn't matter what's "real" and what isn't, it's how we choose to remember it. Reality is defined by our individual experiences after all. Everyone takes something different away from it!

Also, Fujimoto captures shaky cam really well. Although, some parts are a bit too shaky for someone said to have recorded stuff really well.

i just made a funny , nonsensical ending for this manga :

at page 151 , main girl is on her death-bed , and says : make a movie that will make them cry ...

then suddenly , there are some big , loud explosions .

and the girl from "look back" manga is dancing with the explosions behind her back , lol :

I'm a Fujimoto fan, but going into this I couldn't help but feel it would probably be somewhat overrated since he's become a hell of a lot more popular, and the plot seemed rather cliché on the surface. I'm pleased to say my worries were for naught. He truly deserves his popularity. If Chainsaw Man part 2 never happens and he just kept bringing out bangers like this I wouldn't even be disappointed.

I'm an aspiring screenwriter and filmmaker. I can fully say that this captures the feelings of making film in perfect detail. My current project involves people in my life like Yuta did, and the touch of wanting to see someone you love and care about preserved at their best for eternity is something I've explored a lot over the past few months, even if some of them are objectively worse than the people I portray them as.
I will never get over how good this one-shot is.

That was a good read. I definitely need some time to think it over.

I believe the last part with Eri as the vampire was a part of the movie too. A way for Yuta to cope with the loss of his friend.

Fujimoto is an absolute legend.

What a beautiful sad story (with a pinch of fantasy, that end was hilarious) I truly did not expect that I would cry from a one-shot manga.

The point where Yuta's dad talked about having the power to decide how to remember someone wrecked me.

It’s hard to distinguish what’s real and what was in his movie most of the time especially the end

Like was eri really there or was it old footage he edited,
