The pacing was horrendous, Kirito Barely talked to any character, the fights were directed SO badly, but I have to give props to the animators for making this abomination watchable. The OP is one of my favourites so that's a plus too.

Kirito coming out of the vegetable stage is explicitly stated by Higa with demonstration. It never went to the absolute shit, only problem was A-1 not being honest to the source materials where plenty of significant scene were omitted especially Asuna. In fact, SAO Alicization is basically well received arc. If someone straightaway came from Mother basement and Anime Man video nothing can be done unless they watched the series from there heart disregarding those nonsensical takes.
Anyway, given the popularity of SAO well we sure can expect the hatred as well.

Like we both said Alication is great and like I said before I've no issue with how they took Kirito's character, my issues where the same as the Op's, I wish sincerely that they had followed thought with the War arc and given each knight they're proper arcs, like they were doing, rather then suddenly bringing in a load of legacy characters to do all the fighting, effectively removing all tension as we know they can't die. In War of Underworlds series 1 there was this brilliant 'Knights of old' aesthetic, epic final stands, battlefield romance and actual tactics, it was point-blank brilliant progression of the SAO formula to use the world-building and sentient AI in this fashion. It is not toxic or hateful to be sad that they threw all that out to have Klein, Asuna and so one come and steal the spotlight or that Kirito gets God mode for unexplained reasons etc. I could write a wall of text explaining all its faults but you don't seem interested.

I haven't come here off the back of anyone's posts or videos, I simply engage with the media I consume and form my own opinions. If you have a strong argument for why War of Underworlds S2 is actually a masterpiece then I'm genuinely happy to hear it, I love having my mind change and I really quite like SAO in spite of it's many flaws but I am'nt gonna sing it's praises when it fuck up and neither should you.

Instead of focusing on bullshit of Shinon, Leafa and Klein, Lisbeth author should have focused or gave the moment for underworld people to shine like Ishkan and other because it was there place and world. Asuna shining was not a problem, she will of course come to save his boy furthermore she is the heroine of SAO. Regarding the other characters, I am with you since it was not there battle and place to fight. Even if, than only after the emphasis of Underworld soldiers.

I was not happy with the adaptation tbh,but I am not gonna go bashing on it because I am grateful one of my favourite anime with favourite characters was adapted upto the end which barely most of the LN anime will get such reception to that extent. Given there are problem and flaws, I still enjoyed the show regardless.
