Great finale! Am I glad that the Kaiman and Nikaido finally had the talk and it went very well. So many intriguing things are still to be uncovered: how does Nikaido's power work? What is the relation of Nikaido and Asu? How went things sour between Aikawa and Risu? And so much more. Hopefully, the show hit home in Japan and we get a 2nd season in a one or two years or so. Oh, and they should never give up on flexing with the many endings.

I'm so happy that I decided to watch the series. I loved it 100%. Every weekend I was looking forward for the next episode. I was so overwhelmed with the world of dorohedoro, one of the most creative environments and storytelling i've ever seen. Loved it from beginning to end.

Dorohedoro was a bit worse than its high manga score would have led me to believe an anime would be, but from its decent comedy, awesome action, and interesting world, I was able to remain decently entertained for the 12 episode run. I'd be down for a second season, although I'll probably sooner read the manga.

A truly pleasant surprise that this adaption turned out well. Honestly didn't think it would be possible. The manga is superior of course but I REALLY want another season of this. Can't wait to see the cross-eyes in action, especially Natsuki and the boss. The tease of Dokuga and the others at the end of this episode was nice.

Not quite as wonderful an ending as I was hoping for, but not bad. This was a fantastic anime, and that shot of the Cross Eyes guys has me hoping there's a season 2 in the works maybe. This was a whole lot of fun from an anime I really didn't plan on watching.

Man that fight between Nikaido and Caiman was tough to watch, but I'm glad Nikaido is now free of her contract, at least temporarily.

Damn what an awesome anime. The CGI was fantastic, probably the best we've seen since Houseki no Kuni, the story is original, the setting is morbid yet fascinating, the characters are all appealing -- there's just so many good things to say about this anime. I'm very satisfied overall. I do hope that a 2nd season comes around at some point. If not, then I'll just convert to the manga cause this story is too good to not finish.

Damn that was a weak ending! Unfortunately, nothing was resolved .

This anime is a weird one.
It was convoluted and frankly really hard to follow at times, and had a weird tone where it’s hard to gauge if it’s comedic or serious.

Yet, it has one of the most intriguing worlds of any anime in recent times. Very unique and I enjoyed a lot of lore of the devils, and the conflicts between the worlds.

I think MAPPA could’ve done a better job with this, the world of Dorohedoro has a lot to offer, but there were a lot of plot points that they failed to deliver on, for instance, why Asu and Nikaido are so close, relevance of the contracts etc.

Edit: After discussion with a manga reader, it seems the manga also just introduces everything with zero context as well. This makes the confusion during the anime more acceptable... I thought it was just a matter of mappa cutting stuff and it being confusing because of it.

Compared to the previous episodes, this was a slightly tame episode in all honesty.

Seeing the one-sided battle between Nikaido & Caiman was tough to watch first up though. But it’s good to see that they’re finally on good terms by the end of the episode, it’s been a treat watching this duo after all.

I have very serious doubts that the dummy transformation will be able to keep En-san occupied xD, he’s clearly letting his feelings out a lot more than his supposed “acting” abilities lol.

I wonder who slashed her though. I feel like it could be the murderer than En failed to finish off for certain. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be Caiman himself.

Meanwhile, the doctor(s) and the remaining crew have finally arrived back but the mystery is still looming it seems. That’s Dorohedoro, right?

Anyways, this has been a pretty wild ride. Gritty and intriguing setting with the world concepts backed up by entertaining characters. It’s hard to choose a side between the two actually, and I really like that aspect. Story, in all honesty, is fairly fine at best now. Couldn’t help but feel like certain parts were overly convulated and some of the violence senseless at times.

CG use was, overall, pretty good. At times jarring but totally fine for the most bit. Soundtracks were very fitting and the VA a treat so no qualms there.

Definitely hoping that a 2nd Season will be coming soon! We’ve got certain little mysteries out in the open but the big looming ones are still afloat after all. Plus, it’s fun!

This sure was quite an interesting anime, concept and setting were quite different and the usage of the cgi wasn't bad at all! Quite a nice use of the various shaders to replicate a very close drawing style. Yet it's still cgi but it was a whole lot easier to got used to it than other kinds of cgi used anime.

All in all it sure was quite an interesting anime.

I might wait a bit to see if they announce second season, but I don't know how long I can wait before I spoil myself with the manga. This was honestly an excellent piece of work. I came in being really, really weirded out by everything, but I ended up really, really enjoying it. This is probably one of the most eccentric series I've ever watched, but at the time time it was respectably organic in that after every crazy sequence of events you're not left thinking "the writer just pulled that out of their ass!" It's just that every bit of the universe is connected and things lead to one another. It's relentlessly gory, unpredictable, and entertaining. It helps that every character is pretty charming in their own way, even down to the extremely unremarkable Fujita. The only shame is that it really could've used a season two since lots of things remain uncovered and I feel like we won't stop even after Caiman finds out who he is. Because even by this point I don't think we know who the true antagonist is. Caiman was clearly the person who went around beheading people, but why dd he go from regular troublemaker to serial killer? Was there any relation to why Risu got killed or who killed him?

Here's hoping they announce S2 soon, because we really need more fun stuff like this.

Obviously my main reason to watch this show wasn't only because it got avaible on Netflix, but because a lot of it's staff is on SNK Final Season, including the director. I can say I'm satisfied with his direction in here, but he really needs to step up his game on the Final Season. SNK is a show that will really demand intensity even in character conversation moments, so he must elevate even more those feelings in those scenes. Character design is just alright, which is alarming, specially after seeing Final Season trailer. Both on Dorohedoro and the trailer, the girls have their nose with a weird little ball format, and all the characters doesn't look as detailed as they were before. Production itself also looks really simple, with scenarios and illumination never really standing out, no matter how creative they may be.

Only thing I can actually say about the production that I'm fully satsfied and that will fit on a quality demanding show like SNK is the animation quality/consistency. It might not be the same level of Sakugas from previous seasons, but at least it's more consistent, and it doesn't have that many static moments. All we can do now is hope that all the staff "offer their hearts" to the Final Season project and that even if it's not "SNK quality", the story manages to be so enganging that the audience ignore the produtction aspects of the show (that happened on S3P2 in some moments for example).

Oh, but about the show itself? The story is really enganging, althoguh with a lot of stuff going on so I lost track of some plot arcs. By far my favorite thing is the comedy. They really use the over the top setup and events and made them really funny jokes about it. The rest is pretty much decent. 7/10. It actually manage to be my AOTS for the Winter, although it wasn't hard to do that since my highest rated shows were also two 7/10's which were Eizoken (sometimes pretty interesting, but sometimes pretty boring) and Ishuzoko Reviewers (as much it had a great worldbuilding and funny characters, it's a fucking porn anime).

Good show. 7/10 overall. Would be 8/10 but, again, I just didn't like the first two episodes at all.

I'm going to assume that Aikawa is Kaiman pre-lizard head. He killed Risu? What's up with that chip in the brain? No clue who that mystery person is that stabbed Nikaido.

If the crosseyes are weak magic users, how did they kill all of En's crew? How come Nikaido didn't use magic when she was captured by En?

Ebisu is kind of dumb. I thought she'd normalize once she "recovered" but her personality remained basically the same throughout. She adds some humour so I'm not entirely opposed to her characters personality, but it's kind of a let down since she apparently played some role in turning Kaiman into a lizard. I was expecting a more formidable character.

Not entirely sure what's up with the devils, either. Obviously they're just sorcerers that have undergone intense training, but why/how did they come about? Do they have some larger purpose? It can't strictly be for that one devil to sign contacts...

Will watch a second season though, and the OVAs (hopefully they're good and not awful fan service garbage).

If you are referring to the Cross Eyes boss, he's clearly shown to have some sort of special power. As far as other Cross Eyes are concerned if you want to know the answer it's that ****SPOILERS**** since they can't use magic they specialize in methods of killing magic users with weapons and the like *****SPOILERS*****

As for Nikaido, there is a reason she refuses to use magic that will be touched on if the series continues and is concerned with her past.

this is hard to judge since it basically ended with nothing resolved. i'll give it a 6/10 for now and bump it up if we get a second season

once i was finally able to get a grasp on the story and the mystery of caiman's head, i was intrigued. however i am not a fan of the CGI, a lot of transitions feel very clumsy (like powerpoint-esque), and the gore seems gratuitious at times. also just really dislike that so little explanation is given about literally anything (what a Partner is, why Sorcerers wear masks, etc). although this makes me a bit less angry about that:

also can i just say it has really freaked me out to see CGI boobs with no nipples

Despite the score i do want a second season tho, i need to know what's up with caiman's head lol. it feels like we're so close...

"What we learned from the twelfth course" Everything is still a mystery.

That last sentence summed about a lot of my thoughts about this anime.

While I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the world, the concept and the characters. I still don't feel as satisfied as I should have been. I liked a lot about this show but there were some things that dragged this show down for me.

The show is build on mystery but not much has been revealed in this first season of Dorohedoro. I'm sure we would get a ton of answers in a sequel but for now, this season as a standalone does little to satisfy me when it comes to the mystery genre.

While they fed us a lot of mysteries in this first season, we didn't get much chance to focus on them or progress that much in the story.

The first season focused a lot on world building, character introduction and fleshing out these characters. I had a lot of fun with the character cast because of the duality these people have. Shin must be my favorite so far. At one hand a brutal killer (just like pretty much everyone else in this world) but also a genuine guy that cares for his friends and can joke around. I also just love the voice actor of Shin which gives him a lot of bonus points for me.

I would lie if I said that I wasn't bothered by the CG. In a previous discussion I mentioned that I really like the approach that Mappa has done here. Mainly having CG while also using 2D for key moments. I kind of changed my mind about that. They weren't really consistent with the 2D/3D blend. It felt like the 2D was used at random moments for random characters at times. The problem I had with this constant switch is that in the back of my head I kept thinking "oh its 2D now" "oh we are back to 3D" which kind of distracted me away from the story and the characters. I almost spend more time thinking about the art/cg than I did about the rest of the show. So while the CG was quite good in my opinion. The constant mix between the two styles was kind of annoying to me. As much as I loved the 2D sections, I actually would have preferred a full on 3D character approach so that my mind would have been able to watch this more peacefully.

That being said, the background art etc. was amazing. Really helped emphasize this world.

So this show is quite a mixed bag for me. Love the concept and the world. Enjoyed the characters. But the pacing of the story didn't feel natural. We barely had any of the mysteries revealed. I think this would have been much better with 24 episodes and a constant art style. Full 2D for this anime would have been insane. But I guess that wasn't really possible with these detailed character designs.

This anime was a pleasant surprise. The character and environment design are some of the best I've seen. The creator of the manga really put a lot of effort in making each character look distinct and interesting to look at. Even the environment has its own personality. This was headed for a 9/10 until the last two episodes. Fucking hate cliche mind control storylines, and on top of that the pacing grinded to a halt and they didn't even try to wrap anything up in the slightest. I can't rate this at all now until I know for sure there's a season 2, because otherwise this whole thing is just a waste of time.

Asu's seriously the best bro-type character in the series since he's helped Nikaido so much no matter how risky it was to assist En's partner in escaping from him. Chidaruma's picking up on his suspicious behavior and there might be consequences awaiting him if he finally gets caught though...

Nikaido and Kaiman's friendship persevered despite their differences and it even looks like they're closer than ever~ Kaiman's getting closer and closer towards the truth behind his true identity and that'd probably lead to something more complicated than they could ever expect so I'm glad that she'd be there to help him out.

It's funny that I wasn't really feeling this adaptation when I first watched it but I ended up getting hooked up until the end. There's a lot of things I really liked about this series and my three favorite aspects were the character interactions, the action scenes, and the background art since it excellently enhanced my viewing experience and actually improved the source material.

This was just the beginning of the chaotic shambles that is Dorohedoro but I really, really want to watch more!

liked strong style, wacky fun characters on both hero & villain sides, great designs esp all the baroque architecture and wild character faces. And comedy horror kinda rare nowadays, tho this felt more dementia-comedy.
Finally Caiman back with Nikaido, but season left way more questions than expected, then they better get s2.
