just finished it, it has a little unconsistensy (clare getting on the verge of awakening very easily at the beginning and in the last fight she is able to control herself when she is basicly 90% awakened) and episode 22(i guess) that had really annoying camera movements but aside from that it was a really good experience.

btw, is season 2 ever coming or should i just read the manga?

No season 2 coming. The anime tried an original ending because the manga was ongoing and basically fcked things up. For a season two they would have ignore the last few episodes of season 1

Jumping in late, but ye it's like the last 3 eps and that half awakened state during the fight with riguldo is changed slightly.
When riguldo fights in the series, the awakened beings leave for some reason, but in the manga the awakened beings don't go anywhere, riguldo joins an ongoing fight

During the fight, the manga has Clare's arms awaken too, fighting riguldo, the last fight in the series doesn't happen in the manga and it's about halfway through all 27 volumes.
That last bit also suggests the awakened beings are stronger than Priscilla but the manga doesn't take long to suggest it's the other way around, so that's where it really botches its chance to adapt anything further properly

I watched again whole anime and it's one of my favorites the music was really great and fights were enjoyable. Too bad it ended on one season when there was manga for more, now after finishing this anime I feel empty and sad I think I will read manga and then maybe watch something else.

The whole series needs a serious reboot or a quick nitty gritty release of some OVAs to fix some crater sized plot holes. I'm definitely seeing some CGI version taking place in the foreseeable future. I just hope the quality is not shitty like that reboot of Berserk with CGI effects.

I absolutely agree. For once, it's something with rough potential which could use a reboot and be superior to OG!
It needs more Theresa episodes, she's the best character of the series. A rewritten Raki (the one from this anime is an obnoxious boy in distress brat, justifying his selfishness with a pseudo righteous speech at the end. Listening to the melodrama music track as the anime presents his stance as noble absolutely repulsed me). Foreshadowing to Irene's survival (Clare's save during fight against Ophelia comes off as a complete asspull because there is none of this). A rewritten Ophelia, who is an annoyingly edgy and whiny character as she is presented (more buildup would help). To finish, no kiss on the lips scene, as it has creepy implications (NO, it isn't endearingly ambiguous or genuinely friendly!)

I just finished watching Claymore and I absolutely loved it. Indeed, there is a sort of void seeing that it did not receive a second season despite the open ending which left place for more content (at the moment it aired, the manga still was ongoing so nothig surprising).

Instead of second rather, I agree with the previous comments saying a reboot would be welcome, with if possible a whole adaptation of the finished manga.

However, I don't desperate to see it happening one day : indeed, I recently watched Fruits Basket 2019 season 1, which is the remake of Fruits Basket 2001. That means some studios are keen on "digging up" old shows and actually put them into their projets. Claymore aired in 2007, 12 years ago and Fruits Basket received a remake 18 years after it ended : let's say that everything is currently possible !

I would love a remake of this. I loved Claymore but for some reason that climactic fight with Priscilla didn't impress me as much as I thought it would considering it was the final fight and the build-up that led to it. Personally, the best fight in this series was Theresa versus the other Claymores such as Irene. I held my breathe during that fight but felt like the following fights that came after didn't impress me as much.

I think the issue is that most money comes from shounen style animes, and if you read the manga you will see that the story is melancholic and involves a lot of mutilation, graphic scenes and nudism. They would have to age restrict their product and that would cut off a lot of profit.

Personally I also hope a studio will pick this title up and start from scratch true to manga, then release several sequential seasons for a decade or more. Who knows, AoT also involves gore and nudism, yet very popular in EU and NA. I hope it will happen, because the manga story is superb.

I could only last up to episode 6. I haven't seen something so boring and overrated in a long time.

Probably every episode there was a fight there was this thing where the Claymore runs towards the enemy (sometimes the enemy runs towards the Claymore), at the point where they cross each other, there is a s slow motion moment and after that the enemy of the Claymore starts bleeding and falls to the ground. It was so cliched it was just painful to watch, even the very first time.

Usually if something doesn't grab my attention for the first 4 episodes, then it's a really hard sell, it has to do something really intriguing or unexpected to impress me at this point and Claymore just kept repeating the same boring cliches.

Every town they go to, people keep acting like pussies - "ooh, look at the silver eyed witch"  or when they kill a Yoma "so that's what a Claymore can do...". I am starting to think the audience for the manga/anime/story is mentally retarded people.

There used to be an anime, which wasn't anything special, it was called Dimension W.    https://myanimelist.net/anime/31163/Dimension_W

I remember I started watching it one night when I went to bed and I got intrigued as soon as the first episode so much that I ended up binge watching it until early in the morning. I don't claim it was very good or a masterpiece, it just was interesting enough for me to want to keep watching. With Claymore, I was barely forcing myself to watch one episode per day with the mindset "if I watch long enough, it will get interesting", then I read some reviews where people say in the end it departs from the manga, gives it a stupid ending with a cliffhanger and that's it. That's a good reason enough for me to not bother with this - to waste my time for 26 episodes in hopes that something good or interesting will happen only to be made a mockery by the creators who can't even give it a proper ending is a joke.

I think it was around 2011 when I first wanted to watch this, I recently finished Berserk and was in a stressful time in my life and Berserk made me more stressed out and I thought I was on a roll for scary animes so I first thought Claymore will be the next logical step after Berserk, but something made me not watch it at the time, because it gave me the feeling that it would be too stressful for me to see. Now that I've watched 6 episodes from it many years later, there is nothing stressful about it, it's just cliche after cliche and gore porn, if you take that out, it's a very shallow and mediocre anime that only an edgelord 15 year old kid will find amazing.
