| Pure Honor and Glory, the passionate tale of the Lizardmen was great. It was a tale of people who were divided, and stood up together to face overwhelming forces. At least Ains is a merciful Overlord. ..or maybe he just reads the Evil Overlord List on a daily basis. |

| I'm almost willing to forgive this arc due to the inclusion of Shallchair. The Cocytus fight was a nice little power trip. I was hoping they wouldn't make it this dramatic thing, and they avoided that by making it quick and brutal. I disliked him explaining his resistances and stuff - it's pretty obvious a bunch of low level NPC lizardmen would be no match for a guardian. Previously I said I was "almost" willing to forgive this arc. Ultimately I don't. The arc was underwhelming. It makes perfect sense in manga form, but it is such a waste in a 13 episode season. When people hear "Overlord" they think badass mage and his goons, not a bunch of lizardmen and lizard sex. I may be able to re-evaluate the arc's importance at a later date if it is determined that this setup leads to something massive, but until then I can only feel it a waste of my time. Let's see when the rest of the season brings. |

| Iconic moments such as ShallChair, Lizard mating scene and Crush x Ainz had a pretty great transition into their anime format ... What am I saying, this episode was freaking HOT ! |
| So many people excited for lizard sex in this thread lol. Anyway, great ending to an enjoyable arc. I applaud the series for spending so much time on the lizardmen, while keeping Ainz and company in the background. It was quite bold. BTW, couldn't help but laugh at the ShallChair scene and Albedo's reaction. XD |

| First with that lovely Shallchair and to that sudden lizard sex. Overlord is delving into untapped levels of kinky and it's hilarious. Crusche even summoned the anger of both Shalltear and Albedo with that suggestive assumption xD Cocytus destroying the lizard chiefs with ease is kinda like going back to a low level but still giving regard to the ass-kicking they gave you back then. I'm glad that they'll be revived even after their gruesome demise. |

| The first episodes were really disappointing but they led to an actually impressive end! I feel relieved. Also Ainz's bluff regarding the supposed spell put on Zaryusu was pretty nice. Gotta keep 'em lizards in check. That was an amusing episode overall. |

| Well, 5 eps in and this lizard arc appears to be over. Can't say I got much from it, but at least Cocytus got a little development, even if it appears unnecessary atm. We'll see tho. |

| I really enjoy the Overlord series but I think they spent way too much time on the Lizardman Arc. They should have had more focus on the Re-Estize Kingdom in this season because in the end the Lizardmen don't really seem to play a huge role in the over all plot. It's almost as bad as some anime titles that spending an enormous amount of time on a particular character development only for them eventually to be completely removed from the rest of the story. |

| I really don't understand the second season. The actions of Ains are making no sense to me. To be fair it's been quite a few years since I saw season 1 but he seemed a lot more reasonable back then. I was confused by the attack on the lizardmen villages. Why even attack them in the first place? But after reading a few things about it I guess there was no reason to tackle this differently. The biggest "problem" in that was how the creator gave them a personality anyway and suddenly it was really not cool to attack them anymore at all. Probably wouldn't have thought much about it without the introduction of the unique ones. But the last two episodes just felt like contradiction after contradiction all the way. Talking about the whole "don't rule by fear" thing. Cocytus was supposed to subdue them but he should not do that by scaring them into submission. Then he orders him to just attack the village again? Afterwards he keeps talking about the same concept in a different way but just goes ahead and "threatens" Crusch to be loyal to him or he'll kill Zaryusu (even confirming in his thoughts that it is an empty threat). That's the two most recent things in my memory but it felt like that the entirety of these five episodes already... Like he wanted to learn more about diplomacy for future conflicts but nothing about this situation was diplomatic save the final with Crusch and that was handled just badly if your goal was to "not rule by fear". Yes, they got their allegiance of the lizardmen. No, they mostly follow him because they are scared of them. |
