The story is still utter nonsense but at least this wepisode was far more watchable than that trainwreck last week.

Nero is an interesting character and reason enough to stick with it and hope it improves further.

This episode was a little better than the first but Shaft need to drop the more extreme monogatari stuff, it's weird and out of place in this show.

It's undeniably true that you can watch it without playing the game but with it existing now, I consider them as two different experiences of the same work. Reading Hakuno's mind, the slower development, the fact the story's "different" on the original version, it makes them two faces of the same coin, and it's good to know both in that way, they complement each other.

Honestly I don't think you should watch it without playing the game-there's a lot you'll miss out on. Hakunon is just a random person in the opening sequence of last episode to non players, for instance. They'd miss Hakunos usage of ore instead of boku, and the different implications of character those two pronouns carry, and the way that reflects in his character so far. Nero saying "it's you again" will be more ??? if you haven't watched it. In this episode, they see the school flashback to where Shinji stabbed Hakuno in the game instead of the red hallway in the anime. Nero noting it's a different floor. Shinjis change from last episode to this one because of spoiler reasons, etc. And ofc, of paramount importance, Hakuno dismissing the importance of his memories compared to his other iterations who worry profusely about their loss. And Hakuno's name is written differently in jp than the way it normally is.

I agree with you, what I meant too was that doing one of them now doesn't give you the full experience, and I also enjoy asking myself what caused those changes in the anime ;) !

The OP didn't show too much, but it looked and animated nicely and went well with the song.

The ED song was also good, but the visuals were very impressive though. =)

The episode itself felt a lot less confusing than episode one, which Saber thankfully explained a lot to Hakuno, even while bathing nude in the bath with him and also had many good views of her massive tits too. Lucky bastard! =P

Shinji might look impressive doing the infamous head tilt, but he's still an asshole through and through, so I hope he tastes defeat in the next episode, where Hakuno's transformation did surprise me.

Lol@ Shinji getting called a man of culture and that umu counter.
I didn't think I'd like umu Saber with long hair but the OP made me think otherwise. Not gonna lie, it's pretty catchy.
This was definitely a much better episode than the previous one.
Oh and nice cameos from F/GO Servants.

haha... Shaft studios...

This is exactly like watching Monogatari except with different characters. The Saber CV is very lively and cute too.
Thought it wouldn't work out as well as it did after ep 1 but when they entered the city it sounded pretty cute and convincing.

or which route they will use for Anime.

And of course i am also want to know what they will do with

Both the OP and ED songs are great, but the visuals, especially in the OP are really disappointing. Well, it's Shaft, so there will probably be multiple OPs, or they will just change the shadows Saber fights into servants (though they have already revealed most servants in the PVs and even then, that wouldn't really improve the OP)

It's called Seiyuu joke Because Hakuno on this anime so far also doing thing Touma do like.

- badly injured every single time
- Irregular on magic world.
- Bad Luck.

After reading this i'm expecting Hakuno to defeat Shinji's harem by punching them in the face.

There's also Okita Souji, Captain of the Shinsengumi. Also a Saber, BUT she doesn't fire a beam from her sword. All of them are called Saberfaces as a result.

Found this thoroughly enjoyable. I'm once again surprised the ratings are so average.

That aside, I would have been so hard if I were the protagonist in that bath scene. I would either have to transfer my mana to Saber to the point of depletion or end up in a really embarrassing situation, develop insomnia and finally break my contract with her to be able to sleep again.

Good episode.

Interesting, with terms like NPC, Floor and Firewall being thrown around, it seems like this is some kind of virtual world that's stuck in some sort of game loop? Nero seems to call it the Spirit world though.

Speaking of which, Nero is adorable. Love the way she was fawning over stuff. <3

Still not the biggest fan of Hakuno but he's alright and a huge improvement from Sieg in Apocrypha.

That ending though. :o

I really hope Hakuno gets some development, because right now he could be replaced by a fucking plank of wood and it wouldn't make a difference.

It hurts to have to say this, but 1/5
And only because I cannot choose 0/5

The opening of this show is some of the most blatant and shameless fanservice I have ever witnessed in the Fate series. A franchise that had once given us such thought provoking and awe inspiring insights into history has now degraded into naked bath exposition. For those of you who winced during the original H-scenes in Fate/Stay Night: you will be praying for dolphins.

Hakuno has the same bland and dumbfounded facial expression in absolutely every situation regardless of what is happening. Whether he is taking a bath, eating out, mocked by Shinji, or being stabbed by the platoon of Officer Jennys

And once again, the gore porn is ridiculous. Every moment of violence seems to have been fantasized by the animators given how much they glorify every spurt of blood. Hakuno is little more than a blood balloon to be popped every episode to appease the audience of "edgy" sickos who are foaming at the mouth.

One positive that I will credit this series is how groundbreaking the design of the city itself is. There are lots of bright colours and interesting designs throughout. At least, it would have been groundbreaking had Gankutsuou not done the same thing over a decade ago - and infinity better than it is here.
I am the Priest of my church
Yuetsu is my body, and wine is my blood
I have trolled over a thousand users
Unknown to sympathy, nor known to apathy
Withstood Shirou to eat Mapo Tofu
Yet, my question will never be answered
So as I rejoice, Unlimited Kirei Works!

The first episode was completely lackluster, but this one more than makes up for it.

Couple of points here:

1. It's good to see that they used Fate/Extra and Fate/Extella as a reference rather than a complete guide. This episode has taken both worlds and effectively expanded upon them in a significant departure both from the preceding games as well as the manga. Francis Drake (the bartender) was meant to be Shinji's servant in the game and manga, if I remember correctly, so it's amusing and perhaps fitting that she turns up where she does.

2. Holy fanservice, batman! Nero certainly has little trouble flaunting her assets, and I have to admit that this was the first fanservice scene in memory that's actually made me uncomfortable when watching it. Part of it was due to its length, but most of my unease stemmed from the fact that the fanservice was simply that it was excessive. This isn't even a case with Nero being comfortable with her nudity or with herself; it was straight up voyeurism for the audience, to the point that it served no real purpose and didn't further the interaction between the characters in any meaningful way.

3. The latin translation used in the subs is actually incorrect. Maestro is Italian, not latin. One correct term from latin would be "magister," which implies a conductor or practitioner of an art, but the best translation would be "dominus," which implies ownership. For instance, the owner of a gladiatorial school in Rome was usually referred to as "dominae" or "dominus."

Overall, this is a very welcome expansion upon the source material, and though it lacks the polish of Unlimited Budget Works courtesy of UFOtable, it's still very good.

Pretty good opening.

I liked this episode a lot more, since it was more comprehendable. And I'm kinda looking forward to how the fight against Shinji continues.

Also got another shaft bath scene, tho it wasn't as good, cause I thought that the drawing of Sabers face looked a bit weird.

It seems that we are finally getting a good Fate Series since Fate/Zero.

As for the episode, the OP is lit af and Long-haired Saber? Hell yes...
I smell a new waifu coming to planet Fate...
The ED is preety cool and the art style is quite unique... I've only watched 3 episode of Bakemonogatari but I can already see that this is Shaft's signature and I like it baby...

This episode is a huge improvement from the first. The best part about this is that it's the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of Fate Stay Night in the sense that we get a cheerful Saber, better politics involved and a DAMN good MC. Hakuno will save anime :P

But seriously, I had high expectations before the show and was severely disappointing in the first episode. This changed it all. An excellent OP (long haired Saber <3), the brilliant politics involved, Hakuno, Shinji (of course. He's best character XD), great fight scene and once again Hakuno at the end was O_O. Did I mention that the ED was brilliant as well? Man I'm so excited for the next episode!

I was expecting it to be different but not so much! The whole virtual world theme was wasted when limited in a generic school environment and some abstract dungeons in the original but now they can make each level an entire different world! And the plot seems away more interesting and twisted too.
I really like the shaft art style but the production values don’t seem to be that high.

Shaft bath time. In other news, I can, in now way, take this Saber even a little seriously. Her voice, her face, and how she was memed to death on my Tumblr, prevents me from doing so. Theres a permanent image of a small, proud, derpy looking red saber etched into the back of my eyes that will never leave. Also... she has quite the chest...

Anyway, anime has taken quite a strange turn right off the bat. I have no clue where this Grail War is going at all, what I do know is that were two episodes again, and our MC has once again, found himself full of holes. He's gonna be a slice of swiss cheese by the end of this anime if this keeps up.

Fun fact:

Deadface is one of the few intelligible phrases that you can write in hexadecimal. Fits perfectly in a 4 byte (or 32 bit) block, and will probably trigger an invalid memory access error.

Translates to 11011110101011011111101011001110 in binary.

Hakuno's got something really interesting about him this time, it looks like... can't wait to see where this goes.
