I didn't understand the anime are the novels easier to understand?

Why? the story isn't 2deep4me or anything like that. it's hard to follow in the beginning because the story structure isn't linear but it's not too hard to understand if you're paying attention properly. try re-watching the series and read some write-ups on reddit and MAL while watching it. you might understand it and enjoy it more this way.

I don't know if my answer is way too late, but the novels are much easier to understand. Squishing such a complex story into 13 episodes was not a good idea in my opinion.

yes it was hard to understand at the beginning but at end the story was crystal clear. I personally loved the story telling of this anime. It's just so unike, I've seen very few anime with similar story telling and this one was phenomenal. I think I'm going to pick up the novels, if they are all translated that is
