| Semi 3rd time watching this series, I watched it once then rewatched it to a certain point and now I'm rewatching it again lol. Absolutely love this anime, its easily the funniest anime I have ever watched and its so extreme that you can only like it. Every episode is interesting and brings something new. When I first watched this episode I had no idea Haruhi was a girl and I also didn't know what the light bulbs represented until I watched it a second time, it all clicked. Tamaki's reaction was hysterical and he was the last one to find out lol. Such a nice start to a hilarious anime, I really wish I could forget it all and have the opportunity to watch it without any knowledge of what happens! Lets get this ball rolling again! |

| great first episode!! though it does feel fast since they just introduced us the characters in quick sessions just like that. the coffee scene is funny as hell XD so the bulbs was there to indicate that Haruhi is a woman :P poor Suoh, only finding out in the last minute XD i didn't think a host anime would be this fun :) i initially watched this in the first place because of Maaya Sakomoto :) and i'm glad i did watched this!! definitely gonna have lots of fun with this!!! |
| Wah, I wasn't expecting much from that show, but this first episode left me with a good impression :) Tamaki is so narcissistic xD It was hilarious she said that he was boring and then he lost all his confidence :P I liked all those background hint, like the arrow pointing to the vase (it was really intriguing me) and those light bulb. |

| Rewatching this episode. I didn't finish it 2 years ago. Haruhi is a girl (I was spoiled a long time ago). Tamaki-senpai will fall in love with her and so did the other guys. That princess was a brat. She was shocked when Haruhi told her she was being jealous. Tamaki didn't favor that princess. |

| Nice first episode. The thing with the light bulbs was funny. It reminds me a bit of Special A, poor honor student in a bunch of rich kids. The flamboyant boys are comedy gold. And I like how they dealt with the snobbish brat. |

| On my first viewing I mistook the light bulbs to represent the approval of Haruhi becoming a host by each of the six prior members. On repeat viewing (after having watched the whole series) it was more obvious that it represented the moment each of them realized Haruhi was a girl. How fitting that Kyoyo knew the moment she first walked in the door if not before, as he's in the habit of finding out beforehand about others he may come into contact with. |

| the only harem shoujo anime i liked. the only one that's well-written and not cliche and has a capable and likeable mc. she seems kinda agender much...? i like tamaki as a character. he's not the typical rich guy who looks down on others. no, he's a good righteous guy who's willing to get himself dirty/wet in order to help others, no matter their status quo. meneope said: Typical of Japanese anime male characters - they are either completely effeminate, androgynous or downright perverts (the latter as in hentai)! | Why haven't I watched this before now?? This anime is really good, just by the first episode I can tell im going to enjoy every moment of this series! Its surprisingly funny, for the 2000s and even now the animation is good, Haruhi is an amazing protagonist (especially for shoujo standards) and all the characters just bounce off each other really well. |

| That was really nice! I like Haruhi’s straightforwardness when she said that the bitch were jealous of her. And good thing the host club guys see through her that quick. And it was so funny when the blonde guy realized it last that Haruhi is a girl XD |

I really love this line! Enjoyed this episode a lot. I realised I'd forgotten SO much about this series... I honestly don't even remember the bullying sub-plot in this first episode, and I could've sworn it took Tamaki longer to figure out that Haruhi is a girl! Goes to show it's been too long since I've seen it :p |

| 4th time rewatching this🎉🎉 can you tell im obsessed light bulb part was GENIUS and i agree with above comment, tamaki helping haruhi find her wallet was really nice. he's an (idiotis) ass and quite obnoxious but still lets himself get dirty to help a guy he's only known for a day. my man THE OPPP AND ED.. im so very much incredibly emotional nobody touch me |
| Rewatching this masterpiece. Finished it in 2006, rewatched in 2010 or so and.. now again. Wanted to see how my view changes over the years. This was my first anime ever to watch so the nostalgic feeling ARE REAL. |
