| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It was a pretty good pilot for what it's worth. I haven't read the manga, but Toriko seems like a charismatic lead. Can't stand Komatsu, though. His overreactions are way too unfunny. The creature designs are extremely well done, though. I look forward to more of this, especially since it's from such an awesome studios as ufotable (sucks the end credits weren't stop motion, though). So, what did ya'll think? |

| Well, I haven't really read Toriko manga but this special was decent at best and pretty boring. In presentation department it's great(like expected from Ufotable)but other than that, it's pretty much mediocre. Jokes are unfunny and I didn't really liked main characters. | It was really good for a pilot. They left a bit of comedy stuff out from the manga to make it shorter... I guess they were just trying to show off the action more-so, and some effects, but yea, it has been the top shounen manga in SJ for a while so it'd probably make for a great series. Hope this turns into a series, though the manga is better.. |
| as everyone says it is indeed quite good for a pilot episode, i felt they exaggerated the strength of that crocodile he doesn't even use the nail punch on a beast before the lvl 21 legendary devil serpent. oh well looking forward to more Toriko |

| Loved it, the animation surpasses the usual episodes, it was funny as hell and it presents Toriko as a more badass character. The voice acting, eh could've used the originals but I understand why they didn't. Overall it was an absolute EPIC special, wish there was more like this. |

| can someone confirm? is it about Galala Crocodile? Edit: after watching the episode.. date appear midway.. so it has to be the one about Galala if anyone want this as confirmation if they are watching the correct episode |

| Was an alright start, though I'm not feeling that secondary character all that much. Hopefully he's not getting too much screentime in the full show. Also the fight was very dark, at times I could barely see what's happening. |
