Some of the episode felt slow but it featured Naruko and more of his past at school so I'm fine with it.

Overall a decent episode. I love how this adaptation shows ore of Naruko's expressions as fights for his team in this race. Solid usage of OST as well. Good way to give Naruko a spotlight but that ending D:

Naruko's climbing speed is really impressive to catch up to Hakone. It felt nice to see Naruko's aura to impact the ones around him! The Armstrong climb was pretty cool for him to save it for last.

Wow, now this is really riding on willpower alone. To hit objects and even being unable to see yet still accelerating... I'll have to say it was pretty hard to watch as he hit the railings and finally falling. The others supporting him to the very end and seeing the reason why Naruko is this good in climbing is quite amazing.

I am sort of looking forward to see Manami climbing.

That and then the ED song playing right after.

It's amazing how this series can make something so ridiculous so much FEELZ inducing T^T

Naruko's standing out ride was BA!! And the blind ride asking Onoda which way to go was amazing.

Friggin loved the faces on Hakone when they saw that Naruko the sprinter was the one who caught up to them XD

And Damn was the OST this ep on another level from usual :O Too GOOD!! >.<

Naruko was amazing this episode with his Armstrong Climb! Loved seeing him taking the spotlight as the spectators cheered for him and Souhoku. (^^)

Them feels when he was riding blind and asked Onoda to direct him on the path. T_T A bit too dramatic for a sports show but awesome nonetheless.

Looks like Imaizumi will lead the team next and then will come Makishima's turn. Still waiting for Midousuji to appear once again.

Good episode. Omake segment was hilarious as usual! Poor Tadokoro. XD

Well, it looks like Naruko received his "biking death" for the series. I was kind of surprised that he didn't get to make it to the finish line with everyone else, but I guess it was to be expected.

Even while he was climbing (before he started showing signs of weakness), something felt off about the whole thing. It was like everyone was happy and enjoying the race, but it was like the producers didn't want you to feel that way. It was almost as if they were encouraging you to feel a little nervous about what was going to happen next. So Naruko passing out, although tragic, was to be expected I think.

Also, really liked the omake as usual. It wasn't quite as funny as some of the previous ones, but Imaizumi's reaction was priceless.

This episode was friggin beautiful. I can understand the 'blind riding' thing. It happens because of dehydration. But man, what a way to go out!

And that post-credits scene tho!
"There's no shame in falling down... true shame is to not stand up again!"

"Aah? Of course I won't miss!"

"My blood tastes like Iron."

Naruko really impresssed me this episode.....the feels when everyone was cheering for him reminded me of American Sniper. =X He not only impressed the riders he impressed the viewers. xD

And that ending credit was hilarious. Made me lol when they showed Imaizi's face.

All I said was, "Damnnnnnn Girl"(s). xD You just made school swimsuits sexy and i friggin hate school swimsuits. xD

True story, I paused when Naruko said, "Armstrong climb" and typed that into google and clicked on the first video and this was what I found. After watching I resumed Yowamushi no Pedal. xD http://youtu.be/a6jdNsjUtt8

I wanted to see if they were referring to a real technique or if they were just tipping a hat to him. xD

Anyone else find it unintentionally hilarious when Naruko was looking in the opposite direction to Onoda?

There was a change in the ED showing his blindness, also the end card featured Onoda doing a liftoff.

I'd so like to write a wall of text about the whole temp blindness thing but I figured I'd pass. We all know this anime (and the vast majority of its genre pals) takes huge liberties with the human body and what it can do to achieve drama.

I'm glad the team has reached Hakone. Next up it's time for "Hotshot" to shine apparently.

The end scene was great again. I wouldn't mind a Yowapeda short ep series if it dealed with their non-racing stuff the way these do.

Well, it was certainly exaggerated when he couldn't see Onoda on his left side, and I don't know if the oxygen explanation makes sense.

But seeing blurry during intense sports and passing out is a real thing.

I've been waiting for this episode ever since reading the manga chapter of it. Just the picture got me on the edge of crying (so emotional~~~), and now the animation and OST.....THE FEELS!!!!

I don't understand why ppl thought the whole blind thing is dramatic. It's really normal for me, for anyone who plays sports a lot. It often happens to me when I run like 2 or 3 miles nonstop, feeling like passing out and seeing spots in my vision (but not on Naruko's level).

To finish? You mean this race? Well it should finish soon I suppose. But if you mean the REAL ending of the anime...then it wouldn't happen in a lonnnng time. After all, they're still 1st years, there're 2 more years of Interhigh Races.

That's something I wanted to ask, do you think there will be a third season or will it end with the second? I'm not totally sure they will consider animating the next years, it took em 2 seasons just for the first interhigh...

Ok so they have 2 climbers left but use their sprinter to pull on the climb because fuck you frienship feels

I dont know what kind of strategy that is from sohoku but its clearly not the best one they couldve come up with.

Also Onoda is still the same annoying kid he was 50 episodes ago.. everytime he grows as a character he regresses a few minutes later. So annoying.

Naruko knew he wouldn't be useful in the mountains so he gave all he had at the beginning to reach Hakone.
You could say he 'sacrificed' himself. Seems like I decent strategy.

Exactly, 2 climbers. Massive distance to catch up and a finish line to cross while battling a string team.

They are not Hakone who are in the lead, Sohoku need to put up twice more effort and there are no more flats, just hill. They need to save up climbers energy as much as possible while sprinters at this stage are disposable. Naruko was able to efficiently pull them and bring 2 powerful climbers towards their enemy. If not for Naruko, there would be 1 extremely worn out climber but they need both of them.

This was the best strategy that got them to their goal while keeping climbers strength. I have no idea what you are complaining about.

Naruko was awesome!

The best thing about it was that I could relate to the "blind" thing, and Naruko's will to catch up to Hakone's, he exhausted every bits of his energy fueled by his will for that, that felt so real.
