| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- A bit of a slow episode but I liked it. With energy and character designs being a focus, it fleshed out even more ideas of the show. The airplane gimmick was a nice tough though for this episode imo. What a lovely model. |

| So they're moving on to aerial girls eh? And this time it's an adaptation instead of original so it comes with unique challenges. Aoi seems on top of things for now but will it last? With Midori helping on research and Shizuka auditioning next week this might just be the project to bring our 5 main heroines together.I just hope it finally goes right for Shizuka next week. Oh, and new op and ed were good, not sure if I liked them as much as the first though. |

| I like the new OP/ED, especially the ED :) Interesting episode, Miyamori has more responsibility and Iguchi-san is doing character design. |

| That was a nice episode - can't say I'm a fan of the new OP/ED though. Miyamori is a force to be reckoned with, that's for sure. |
| I enjoyed Rii-chan offering to help and how she can't wait to enter her next stage. It was pretty enjoyable seeing everybody hard at work. The talk about the ending and declining the original ending part. Doing all the researches and preparation, the author not showing up though :( |

| Miyamori got a promotion and things got even more hectic from her, at least that's what it looked like in the beginning but things still seem pretty calm. Guess it still needs to get started up. I have to say that i am surprised about how much they look up for there project they are even mentioning the generation of aircraft. In simple human language the generation of fighter refers to the period they where build and the technology the have on board. 5th generation refers to a jet fighter with stealth technology as well as some other advanced technology that makes it superior over the previous generations. Seems we will also see the new staff members soon. |

| They have done a fantastic job for the past twelve episodes, culminating with that unforgettable no-cheat animation of the stampede of horses.  . . . so I don't blame them that this episode looked just a bit "phoned-in". They all deserve a little bit of a rest. In particular, director Tsutomu Mizushima has been sending out a few odd tweets lately, which is normal for him when he gets overtired (from what I recall when Girls und Panzer was in trouble in late 2012). The voice actress for Aoi tweeted yesterday that it brings tears to her eyes when she listens to the new ED. And she likes the new OP too. |
| New opening is subpar, but the ending theme is substantially better than the first, so overall I don't mind those changes. Everything's retrogressed to square one as they initiate production on their new show. Miyamori is now taking the high chair as production desk and it looks like she'll be more stressed than ever, and Zuka-chan has won another chance to redeem herself with the new audition. I earnestly feel this half will be much better than the first and I can't wait. |

| This is already getting interesting with the nice build-up. BTW Aircraft Identification: OP Green & 4th Volume Cover: Kfir - the triangular canard on the engine intake is unique to it and its parent design the Mirage III/V, which both lack that additional intake at the base of the tail. OP Blue: Saab Viggen - again, very unique canard design OP Yellow: Mitsubishi F1 - the boxy intakes are rare on their own. Add the twin engine and slight downward angle of the horizontal stabilizers and there can be no doubt. OP Pink & 2nd Volume Cover: F-4 Phantom II - distinct and well known. OP Purple & 3rd Volume Cover: MiG-23 - the swing wings, boxy intakes, single engine, and that large and distinct ventral stabilizer. Every aircraft except the F-4 (1960), entered service between 1970 and 1980. |
| I think this arc has great potential. The lack of involvement of the manga's author in the production process will probably become a big issue later on, which might provide some much needed drama. I can also imagine that Tarou will struggle with the extra responsibilites in the new production and give Miyamori all sorts of problems. |

Yuka still my favorite secondary character. With her showing joy last episode with Exodus completing and how cute her desk is despite her hard boiled GM role. |

That meeting with the manga publisher didn't bode well. That guy didn't care about anything. This is sure to cause problems down the road. Yeah seriously, poor Aoi :( Takanashi usually makes everything worse too...hopefully it won't be too terrible because I think that anime adaptations have less things to work on...or maybe not considering the amount of research and details they need for the aircrafts. She's lucky she has Ritsuko around, she's not only good at research, she enjoys it as well. I was surprised too to see Shizuka holding the audition script for the show Musani is working on...dang, what a great coincidence! Now she just needs to pass it. Hopefully she will at least land on a minor/supporting role, considering that she hasn't really had any prior experience anyways. I like how Shirobako is showing the production of an original anime and then an anime adaptation. I laughed a little when they were discussing about the anime's ending, whether to make it an anime original ending or to do a cliffhanger sort of thing. One of the first question any fans of the original source asks when they see it get an anime adaptation. |

| Although I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of Shirobako, I found that I didn't have much emotional connection with the characters and the story, you may found them relatable or interesting but sometime I can't help but feeling they are just tools to tell a story that the production team wanted. I feel like I'm watching a documentary rather than a drama, and I believe that is because the majority of the time is devoted to anime production not characters or any underlying message, it use characters and story to tell anime production, not the other way around. It's fine if you watch the show as a slice of life, but if you expect something deeper than that, i.e. drama, you will be disappointed. Seiichi is still the best character. |

| I really like the new OP. I'm sad that the old ED was replaced though. Truth be told, I used to dance along to the ED with Miyamori's dolls. Haha I feel like the new ED will grow on me though. Also, things are going to get pretty hectic for Miyamori. I feel so sorry for her. It's like the writers of this anime just love torturing her with stress. I'm glad that they're doing an adaptation of a manga for this arch, because I really want to see what goes on behind the scenes for something like that. I'm really looking forward to what's to come. |

If you enjoy the show this way is totally fine, it established itself from the start and I also enjoy the way it is, but the show just doesn't give me any incentive to revisit or invest into the characters and story, most of the plots have more relation to the situations, and watch how the characters react, and I think that is actually what P.A Works wants to tell, an everyday representation of what is like if you were one of them. Sadly if you have no interest in anime production you will just get bored out of it because it doesn't offer more than that. Japanese name: アニメーション制作進行くろみちゃん OVA 1 in 2001. OVA 2 in 2004. Info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animation_Runner_Kuromi Watching "Animation Runner Kuromi" was what first turned me into an anime freak. It is much, much easier to watch and understand. Naturally, it makes a lot of simplifications. I agree that they develop the personal emotional lives very well, making the characters immediately relatable. Besides that, there isn't such a big struggle for the viewer to keep their names and job titles straight. |

That is the only way that I can understand the extremely high "Amazon Stalker points", which are a quantitative measure of the number of pre-orders which are being placed for the Blu-ray and DVD volumes. Suppose that every single person working in the Japan anime industry, in any capacity, buys the complete set. How many BDs/DVDs would that be? Also, this is the kind of educational story that parents would buy as a gift for their children who show any kind of artistic talent. It will be in every school library. |

| Another episode of Shirobako that really delivered. At the beginning of this series we were already in the process of making an anime but now were able to see all the preparation before even getting into making the first episode. This is why I love this show. |

There is no relationship to any real person, organization or place." I can see it in the raw version, but for some strange reason it is absent in the subbed version. I am fairly sure that this announcement is never shown in anime series. So it looks to me like the Shirobako producers are trying to be very careful that it is made clear that these new dislikeable characters have absolutely no connection to anybody in the real world. On the other hand, there is another legal disclaimer which almost always crawls across the bottom of the screen at the start of anime episodes (at least, for the past several years). It starts with: 最近インターネット上での不正な利用が多発しております。番組の画像や映像を権利者... Saikin intānetto-jō de no fuseina riyō ga tahatsu shite orimasu. Bangumi no gazō ya eizō o kenri-sha... But I have never figured out how to properly translate it into English, so... |

| Wow.. the team looked pretty empty. Liked the new visuals for the 2nd OP, but music still isn't very notable. "Everything." Hah, poor Miyamori. Looks like you still can't cut a break. Hmm I didn't realize staff members had to read the manga for the project they work on... though I suppose that's obvious. I like authoritive Miyamori! Strangely everyone seems adorable and funny to the max. Guess I missed watching this more than I thought. Naming off cloud types... an unexpected knowledge. I really hope Shizuka can work on Aerial Girls too! What an obnoxious guy. Looks like Rii'll be getting more work! Neat! The beginnings of a project, there's a lot of prep work but at least everyone's enthusiastic. ED, aight. |

| I like the new OP and ED. Fits the series much better imho. There's so much future development, for the lead characters that is. Aoi's getting so much work and I like how this will help her. The same goes for the others, I'm guessing everyone will be involved in Aerial Girls. 3D planes for Misa (from the OP preview), voice for Shizuka (I hope she gets through the audition), and Midori might get outsourced for further research (since the production asked for her work and even threw in great compliments). I'm looking forward to the next episode. P.S. That SP 01 was really disappointing. An interview? really?? Is this 2005? |
