| I'm wondering again when this is taking place, looking at the backgrounds. In the first series there was a clear progression of industrialization, but here the backgrounds have been so much modernized that it's more likely taking place late in the 70s. That is, they've changed the time of the series. It could even be taking place in 1980 when this season was aired. In particular, in this episode the shady reporter was driving a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. From its lights you can see that it's the model that was manufactured from 1977 to 1981. edit: Based on birthdays and character age mentioned later, the year is 1978. |
