Suguwara only lasted for one episode was a pity, but he set the chaos straight and boosted the morale of his team before giving his position back to Tobio

Would be nice to see both of them on the field giving each other a setup or confuse the opponent with two setters on one side

At that part, the beginning of the second set, he wasn't entering the court and that is why he making that kind of face!

I'm coming to the realisation now that Haikyuu!! is almost at an end ;___; just four episodes left.
I realized this last episode ;_; It too fast!

Suga is so calm under such pressure! And really cuteeeee >.< He totally change the atmosphere of the anime. It's too bad that we either have Tobio or Suga...I didn't know anything about volleyball before, but now i find it really cool how much thinking and tactics are behind every play, not just athletic abilities. Any other sports anime that have this quality?

I totally start spazzing when Noya and Daichi had to stop the serving streak. That was so cool. Also Nishinoya my baby look really handsome then.

All the characters are awesome! It's just that Tsukki is only there for his tall height and hateful comment...hope he will have something more. Like character development for his demotivated lifestyle.

Awesome greetings, and of-course Noya gets special service. Suga is such a refreshing setter, he totally changed the atmosphere there.

I kinda prefer Suga as a setter. Finally some Chikara moments, too! This episode has been awesome.

Such amazing dialogues, I absolutely loved Sugawara and Kageyama's respective monologues...

It was awesome to see Asahi pumped up.

And I am so happy for Suga, he will get to be in the game again.

Man, I absolutely loooove this show after-all.

This is sooooo good. Suga is actually a really good character, and now I'm really starting to appreciate him.

Pretty emotional anyway, got shivers every episode, but I think it's mostly because of the awesome music it displays.

I'm so glad that Haikyuu shifts focus onto every character and we've yet to see things from Tsukishima and the friend who learnt the float serves from the senior, and maybe that one guy who was explaining to Kageyama about how strong their spikers are.

I like to think it always reinforces that it is a team game with emotional aspects. Although it's sad to see Suga's refreshment slowly die down, he did what he could to prime it for Kageyama's return.

I NEED THE NEXT EPISODE NOW!

sucks that i caught up now :'(

This show is throwing curve balls left and right, i wouldn't be surprised to see Kurasano lose the match at this point.

but then it would be weird, b/c this is the last tournement with the 3rd years. Would be a pretty strange show to end it on that note, b/c their backbone of the team is the 3rd years.

Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances.
He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter.
Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.
Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel.
The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck.

Man this show is just so stupid good. I love it when an anime adaptation is arguably better than it's source material cause the people working on it just seem to care so much.

Suga joining in the match was so badass! He really knows how to work with the team! He definitely is Kageyama's senpai for a reason. Daichi taking Oikawa's serve was cool too.

Now I hope next episode they'll turn thing around. O: I don't want that smug Oikawa to win this match.

Its great to see Sugawara on the court for once.
And wow Hinata actually made his first block instead of a first touch.

also, Im starting to notice that the producers are allowing 4-touch plays in certain instances...

Sugawara-san is a bit like everyone's mom: so dependable and perceptive of his teammates' needs.
I'm also glad they gave some time for Kageyama to cool down and for his senpai to shine: like Oikawa said, it's hard to let go of one's old habits, especially in such a short time. It was only natural for him to revert into a state he feels most comfortable in when confronted with a stressful situation. Good thing that time off the court helped him realize he's the one who needs to adjust his tosses to the spikers' playstyles and not the other way around.

everything in this show changes real quick not only the game points but also the determination of each player. that's why every single character can shine in his own way because everyone gets enough screen time and in depth characterization. it's easy to grew attached to any of these characters.

Suga is basically the ultimate Senpai.

How can a person be that nice? *o*

It was really interesting seeing him play Setter in a match, I love how perceptive he is at picking up everyone's mood and interacting/playing with that in mind the entire time.
Sure, he's not freakishly talented like Kageyama, but he's much better at using everyone's strengths to unify the team. Kinda like a Nekoma player.

They both bring different things to the table so it's not like one is more important than the other! Like, Kageyama is the flashy, genius player and Suga is the Setter that "connects" the team.

Then you have someone like Oikawa who is a bit of both. So I wonder if Karasuno can scrape a win? I'd be pretty sad if they just missed out on the top 8 by a hair, but at the same time I wanna see some other teams play against each other. I'm torn!

This anime gets me. I loved this episode. The decision to mix up the formula and add in Suga was a wonderful one. Not too long ago I told my friend I would miss Daichi and Asahi but not Suga, and how that has changed in one single episode.

Suga's experience, composure, understanding of the team, and reliability are what made him a perfect choice to send in! You could immediately tell the difference in the two as he set the tone by lightening everybody's mood. Whereas Kageyama may have better athleticism and talent, Suga understands his friends damn well and doesn't crack. It was glorious to see him read his opponents and work with his team so well like by sending Tanaka the toss because Suga knew he was more confident than ever. The read where he got Tsukki to change positions with him was great.

Kageyama and Suga are two sides of one coin, they're both setters with the same goal in mind and different skills to bring to the table. We finally got to understand that. From all this, Kageyama got to see how he should aim to act, and had the realization that what he has with Hinata shouldn't be with just Hinata, but the rest of the team too. Just amazing. Everyone seriously gets so much love in Haikyuu.

Again with the ending, we could easily infer Suga was happy to hear the words 'next time', to spell it out for us takes away from it. Either way, with how on the nose this anime is about getting its ideas forward, I shouldn't expect subtlety, and it's not ruined by spelling it out either, just somewhat dulled.

Difference between Kageyama and Sugawara

Kageyama: everyone trust and depend on Kageyama

Sugawara: depending on everyone and trust them.

Both are good setters.

I'm not as convinced anymore that they will win this match. Maybe the tournament ends for them here, and with it the show's season too. It's possible the rest of the tourney will be in the second season, but that doesn't seem as likely to me now.
