| What is it with Shaft and it's tendency towards making characters come across as annoying and unlikeable in the extreme and not to mention kind of creepy. I've watched the original PV for Kagerou Days and it was an interesting little piece of indie music video art, but I didn't get the impression from it that Hiyori was at all like she was portrayed in this episode and yet they sure made it look like it. They just seem to suck as a creative team when it comes to portraying any sort of atmosphere that is supposed to resemble anything other than unnerving and off-putting as well. Apparently this show is going all original next episode too so I guess the trend of anything people liked about the original PV's not really being present in this anime is going to continue. Sucks for the fans I guess. |
| Hiyori sure had a different personality than I expected based from the music video. Still enjoyed the episode to a degree but it in no way had the FEELS that the music video had. It seems they didn't show everything either. |

It seems like they just gave her the Shaft Character Personality (TM) where they seem to be trying to make a character seem edgy, cool and smart but they just kind of end up coming across as obnoxious and unpleasant. Supposedly too Ayano is supposed to be this really caring and warm-hearted person too but in the scenes they've shown of her so far they make her come across like she's some sort of diabolical mastermind that is messing with people. They just seem to be really struggling with giving people a reason to be truly invested in this series beyond the usual art gimmicks. |
| I had a totally different idea of Hiyori so I'm not quite too sure what to make of her as she was in the anime. It was okay this week but really didn't meet the expectations set by the song for it. |
| Hiyori is so annoying. Keeps bossing Hibiya and ridiculing him. That scene where Hibiya keep asking his dad to go on vacation with Hiyori. And that excuse. That was hilarious!! I don't get what is up with that scenery when Hiyori keeps dying. The song doesn't really suit those scenes. And that ending, what just happened? |

Hiyori being rude was really annoying-...well, she wasn't never a sweetheart, but at least not that rude-. Konoha was boring and cute. Good job with Hibiya, he is such a loser like in his PV, and I like that they put the scene where he is asking permission to his father, like in ep 2 with Momo's past, that also explain some things about their backstory. I'm concerned about that scream at the end... |
| I watched this episode then I looked up PV and I have to say the PV is so much better done, this episode was kind of shit compared to that, before I watched PV I thought it was an ok episode |

| Looks like they pay more attention to all those SHAFT-styled effects than to the story and characters. Overall another pretty weak episode, I'm starting to lose my interest for the show. |

| I think the problem in that episode was the timeloop part (the most important one). They spent a lot of time explaining how Hibyia got there and that time should have been for the time-loop. It would have been better if they focused in how lost Hibiya felt because of the timeloop and the horror of Hiyori's deaths. I actually like the first half of the episode and how they paced the the final song (but I did not liked the voice). For me the problem is the time-loop part. The OST does not help, too. |
| Oh great, more god-awful backgrounds of almost no color, lol this might as well not be set on Earth. This is Mercury now, people colonized it somehow (Don't even ask) and the architect in for these citites was some sort of lunatic. Actually, it's not in this Universe: this planet is called Edgia and all of that is completely normal. Its lighting tends to change color because of some sort of strange phenomenon that is still in the middle of being researched and Edgia is more technically advanced than Earth. ... Yeah, fuck that, I hate the art. You know the sad part? I didn't even have high expectations for the anime, I expected it to be average or above average at best. I also hate how we get lots of shots of backgrounds at the start of an episode and in certain transitions because no, I don't want to look at them. Anyway, Hiyori is so annoying; I don't really keep up with the actual plot of the series but holy shizzle I wanted to kill her. All throughout the episode I was thinking, "why does Hibiya like this girl again?" This just makes me want to see her dead, how am I supposed to pity this scenario when it does exactly what I want? I mean, Hiyori dies three times and you expect me to give a fuck about her when she's so annoying? I guess I only feel sorry for Hibiya. Konoha was cool though, at least that was nice to see; it was definitely better than seeing Hiyori treat Hibiya like shit. On the other hand though, dat Kagerou Days: I think I wouldn't have understood it if I didn't know the songs. The backgrounds were extra shitty and unrealistic but lol I guess this needed to be edgy or symbolic or whatever since that totally matters. Whatever the case, I guess the only thing that I would understand from that if I hadn't listened to the songs would be the time loop and that the cat was involved but the rest would be a huge wtf to me. Hibiya's line at the end was pretty cool though and so, an episode passes. Well, I can only hope that it gets better... ^^' |

| I was looking forward to this episode cause it what made kagerou project big. Turn out to be dull than i expected to be. Quite surprise with Ayano appearance in the beginning == konoha <3 (Miyano voice.... want to see more T^T) had a feeling Soraru will sing the insert song.. they could a least play the chorus too == overall, it a so-so episode. |

| Coming from a background with limited exposure to the series (some of the music, and some of the manga, and just casual reading of a few theories), I thought it was actually a perfect episode adapting the events around Hibiya, opening was hilarious mix of comedy and really good Hibiya scenes, specifically his "climbing" of the steps at his home and the excuse, and then his constant facial response/actions to Hiyori. Ultimately second half was what Ive been looking to all anime for as thats my favorite song and memorable sequence of events. Could have gone a bit more past that ending moment and cut out the time post credits, but at least it keeps the suspense up for next week. Funny minor moment was when Konoha took Hibiya drink while they were talking, and did a few more things with the food throughout. Though Hibiya and Kano are my fav characters in the series, so I really loved this Hibiya episode a lot. I thought SHAFT visuals were a good stylish choice for the time loop moments though, simple three color variety going on. Only thing Id probably improve would be that one splat that became black spray though that was probably a stylish choice. Will be interesting to see what changes on the home disc release, since I imagine theyll go all out altering scenes. |

| I don't get how some of you actually found Hiyori's annoying. I mean if she's annoying, how on earth are you guys going to respond to actual annoying characters from other animes... So far this episode is probably the worst, probably due to the lack of gore and reuse of animation (some of the details are good like the increasing number of crows which represent how many times HIbiya is stuck on that day). Madhouse or Bones should be the one that adapt this, not SHAFT. The only good part of the episode is the beginning with Ayano, the Konoha's introduction and the "screw you cat" part. The rest are no good. 6/10 Is the next episode going to be original? |
