| And yet things begin to look interesting again. ^^ A 3-way confrontation will come foward it seems... ( or a 4-way but I don't wanna count the jap police...). Anyway imo, Near just looked like the "bratty" version of L..(not necessarily a bad thing), Melo though, called my attention. I'm interested to see how's Kira going to deal with someone who doesn't care about what it takes to achieve his goals. Even though Light is my favourite character in the series, seeing him shake again at the end of the ep was just great. N said: Nidaime L..., Hajimemaste. More to come in the next. Can't wait. |

| In all honesty I thought this episode sucked, and I was extremely excited to see Mello and Near's appearance. I hope this last arc isn't going to be as bad as I think it's going to.... Mello/Near's voices made me lol endlessly though. nom nom nom is too manly and fatty is too girly, imo. o well. Also, if Light ends up sacrificing Sayu, I'll hate him even more than I do know. That bastard. |
| I don't understand how episode 25 could be in the same series and created by the same people as episode 27. I hated this ep, everything was just plain stupid. So incredibly lame. Melo dramatically biting into a slab of chocolate, "OH NOES! HIS GLUTTONY IS SYMBOLIC OF HIS DESIRE TO KILL EXCESSIVELY!" And when Near called himself "N", lol... that is so cheesey it makes me want to never eat a dairy product again. And all these characters pop up out of nowhere, Sayu? I mean do we actually care if she dies? She's only had a totale of around 7 lines in the whole series. And in all seriousness now, are we expected to believe that his own father would not be worried about Light's behaviour? Always being so calculated and forced is obvious to anyone close i.e Fathers... Death Note just went from Pretty Darn Good to Excruciatingly Average. |

| Light appears to be screwing up a lot. I miss the episodes where Light just owned everyone all over the place. Near is ok, but I don't really like Mello. Not my favorite episode but it wasn't bad. Next episode should be pretty interesting. |

| I guess I'm with the general consensus that this episode was pretty disappointing. I like Near (though calling himself 'N' is indeed lame), but Melo seems far too spoiled and whiny - I'd probably like him if it wasn't for the scene with him and Near, but I can't take him seriously after seeing how irritating and childish he was. I suppose the whole kidnapping Sayu bit and a 3-way confrontation may make things pretty interesting, but I lost a good bit of my enthusiasm after watching this episode. Hopefully Death Note will be back to its usual glory next time 'round. |

Light had death gods on his side and L had police officer! and quite frankly i considered them a handicap because they never quite understood L's logic and they never thought light was kira, in my opinion if he would've stayed alone in his room with is MAC computer, he would've done better. As for mellow and near, i like the characters and is perfect really, people are complaining that this arc wont have character development, and its true in a point but i dont think this arc is about that at all, With L's death the real fight is now, and his death just set the bomb in motion, and that bomb comes in the form of Mellow and near, they're far more cold than L was, and they now know what kira can be capable of. as for those characters also, i think of them as the two sides of L, in otherwords L, even though always had a cold calculating posture like near but, he at times (like in eposide 25) projected a lot of sadness and emotion like lets say Mellow, but mellow is an extreme. anyways just a thought that i had to get out my chest =P DEATH NOTE RULES! | I miss L too TT_______TT after he dies the storyline, which was always so intense and amazing, goes downhill ¬_____¬ though, as I was expecting that - having already read the manga - I wasn't too disappointed with this ep. I liked Mello and Near (at least more than I did when they first appeared in the manga -- at every frame I kept yelling: "STOP TRYING TO BE L!!!!!" xD), especially Mello who I hated first off in the manga :/ so there we go. confusing. but overall, an all right ep.. I hope that the anime will be able to make a good ending out of the plummeting plotlines ;_____; |

| Is this white-haired child the only compensation I get for losing L? He's like a freaking caricature. Oh I'm sure they'll explain the similar mannerisms, like maybe he's L's little brother or something, but whatever. It still feels weak. SOOOOO close to dropping this anime. I don't care about Wello, or Near, or their plans for the world. They should have saved killing L until the end of the series, where it belonged (since either L or Light pretty much /had/ to die by the end). |

SAYU!!! she's all grown-up!! and matsuda too.. changed his look a bit.. he looks better that way..hahaha.. i'm glad misa is still alive!! after she cut her life half twice! hahaha.. anyway.. mello and near?? hmmm... is this going to be a 3-way battle now? mello near and light? hahaha. interesting enough.. but still. i miss L. :D |
| I've heard many different opinions on Death Note's life after L's death, and I really enjoyed this episode despite what everyone has said. SO FAR I am enjoying this as much as L's arc, but that's not saying much considering this is only the intro episode. |

| This is awesome, I love it when Light doesn't know everything. Mello and Near are two great new characters. My only problem is that it probably would have been better for Near to stay secretive. When you think about it, if L never made himself known to Light, then the whole show would have been different. If Light doesn't know someone is on to him, then that's how to catch him off guard. Oh well, I guess they need an imperfection somewhere. |

| For me, Near is a white-haired [poorly done] copy of L and Mello is blonde chocolate-eating [wth is up with that??] version of Light. A friend of mine was actually two ep ahead of me and when I complained about L's death, she told me that at least Mello's hot. Oh really O_o? Cause I don't see it. I miss L too. He was smart and funny. And right now I'm sticking with the series because I wanna see Light getting what he deserves [a painful and lame and lonely death like he gave L >_< ].----- I don't know about the ending, I'm just hoping this is how it's gonna end. |

| ok,this episode wasn't that bad :),i still miss L tho :'( also i don't see the point in killing L and bringing another character that it's 90% him :) this dude Near is like a cleaner version of L :) Mello on the other hand,is a total jackass(oh btw is "it" a girl or a boy?O.o,he kinda looks like a girl,and i actually thought so before he opened his mouth...) Anyway now it's starting to get though for Light,because his family is in trouble...now we will find out if he has a little ray of light(lol) in hisblack heart...i can't belive that he is even CONSIDERING into killing his own sister,that jerk O.o |

| Near ( <- weird name, but anyways ) seems to be like a sort of copy of L, but way not as awesome. Mello was a bit like "oh yeah! I'm super evil and my weird evil thing is that I always eat chocolate!" -_-; I doubt this arc will be as good as Death Note used to be... | Great episode! Everything moved a couple years up and lots have happened new introduction of characters Mello and N and that his sister has now been kidnapped can cause quite allot of fuss! Up to the last 10 episodes! |

| Agh. I had my hopes up when the series returned to its original quality for a couple of episodes when they got rid of Higuchi. It seems that the show worked best with the original cast and they're just trying to lengthen the story with new characters, and not that successfully. Mello is just ridiculous with the tranny look and Johan Liebert voice, and N is a typical shounen character, the determined teenage genius who's smarter than all the adults (not that Light and L are atypical in that sense, but they had other qualities from the start). I think the biggest problem is the dynamic between the rivals. Light was the bad guy of the series despite being the lead, and yet depending on your view you could also support him, and L was a good opponent for him. Then it turned into Higuchi against good guys and now with M and N we have Higuchi lite and L lite. Throughout the series I've been expecting some kind of Shakespearean tragic ending (everybody dies), it doesn't feel like there should be a happy end to this. It would also fit the theme of how the death note corrupts everyone. Kidnapping Light's sister might be a good catalyst for driving him into more and more desperate measures. |
