| Can I just say Kano looked incredibly cute there, and Shintaro so hot legs and feet, why does he have to be in those stuffy pants, and his great room. On a different note. After many months of waiting and following all the promo material, and the week to week CMs and voice actor reveals, and a pv last week its finally here and it exceeded all expectations I had for it . Easily second best start to the season for an anime. The opening discussion to pull us in, internal Shintaro dialogue with the visible genjutsus present all throughout his room to make us envious of it, and even Ene's witty commentary always, just really surprisingly entertaining. Second half with the colouring employed for the key scenes, Kano's voice actor having a mighty fun time and even Kano the character himself just being all around lovable and hilarious with his comments and looks, with Seto chiming in too, kind of got to me to rewatch it a second time. Good start with emotional ED. Also want the soundtrack as well. |

| Ahh, for those wondering about the anime following the Manga or Light Novels, the creator Jin said himself that it would follow a different route! (but starting off, it has a lot of similarities to both so far with only minor tweaks) And I believe Seto was put into that scene simply because Jin promised Seto would appear more in the anime than he has so far in the LN's/Manga. For anyone familiar with Kagerou Project, SHAFT actually did a nice job style-wise. Lastly, the anime is being written by the creator of the series. Literally everything is written or watched over by him (he even wrote the entire script by himself), and he created the OP and ED. So more than likely the reason the anime is so short is because of the sheer amount of work it is for him (poor Jin-- he still has to work on the next LN and continue writing the plot for the manga). I don't think the majority of people being turned off is from the confusing story, but rather the cliche animating shaft pulls. If anything, I think Jin did a great job on introducing Ayano immediately to help viewers understand her role later on, along with Shintaro. The animating and character arts, however, are well below underwhelming. The official kagepro site even released all the character designs just before the anime aired, and it's extremely visible how low detailed the characters are in this episode. The animation isn't exactly smooth either, and you can obviously tell they added a ton of basic patterned backgrounds during the comedy relief scenes. AND THE HEAD TILTS. GAH! Just imagine if KyoAni had done KagePro... LOOK AT MARY (Though, I don't mind, cute mary is cute) Anyways, I'll agree with the overdoing of head tilts, thought it was me coming off a Madoka marathon that the headtilts felt low... but rewatching it and yes, a bit too many head tilts. This should be more compared to Negima!? rather than Bakemonogatari. I do like the idea of ending fan arts, since fan arts are what got me interested in KagePro Ye I agree that the headtilts were a little overdone (ok a LOT overdone). Style-wise, I wish more people knew about the series itself, because the style fits really well imo! But to anyone who's only watched SHAFT's other works, I can see why they're saying things like "it's like bakemonogatari but with different characters" etc. Just a shame that it's getting such bad feedback so soon over things like that. Re-watching it, i'm pretty upset with how SHAFT handled the art/animation for the majority of the ep. I wonder why, though? Something as popular as Kagepro, and they didn't try all that hard...it's odd. But yeah between the characters/BG's/animation/etc. It felt low budget. I almost wish KyoAni had handled it (after shows like KnK and Hyouka, I thought they could pull it off), BUT again, when SHAFT is at their best which I can only hope they'll put in more effort after Nisekoi's over), I feel like they could make an amazing Outer Science or LTM ep. The one complaint character-wise that I have is Mary-- I miss seeing her all happy and fluffy and cute. ;-; (though I have a theory about why she looks so forlorn) |
| Seems like dialogue heavy series to me. Perfect for Shaft adaptation imo. However, the animation feels like a lower quality Bakemonogatari. Really a non-issue if the the story is great. So far I like the mystery/psychological vibe of the show. |
| I was really looking forward to this for a long time but over all was left I was left with a feeling of meh. (I was pretty ticked off them the OP wasn't sung by IA, they could have AT LEAST used Miku, but w.e) I loved how they started off with Ayano though, I hope some how they'll be a happy ending for her too... All and all, it wasn't the best episode I've ever seen but at least it leaves plenty of room for improvement. |

| Shaft... the somewhat confusing part makes it rather interesting. Ene was pretty cool, the other characters were really mysterious and interesting. The setting in the future, I like sci-fi stuff. Romance tag eh? I need a thesaurus T.T, I keep on wanting to say the word "interesting". |

| The first episode hasn't blown me away but I somehow liked it. Kana Asumi as Ene is pretty amazing, still love her voice a lot. I think the story is still pretty interesting, looking forward to more. |

This kind of anime is my thing the modern , high tech world feel is my kind of thing so I'll watch this through in addition to the megaman jacking in was cool for those who remember watching megaman as kids where he jacks in via usb |
| I also don't understand how people are bashing it soo hard already. Were they expecting something more because they read the manga or light novels? As for the animation I don't see what is there to be put off to. Honestly it really just sounds like a bunch of children whining over things like that. Again though, I'm a complete virgin to this series so I have no basis to be criticizing it. It just seems really odd for people to be hating it soo much. |

| My knowledge of Kagepro begins and ends with Kagerou Days, and only because that was in Project Diva. This was really confusing, but I'll keep going because it's interesting. And the character designs are really good, too. I will say, though, that I felt this (speaking of just the anime) was way too close to Bakemonogatari. It's one of my favourite anime, so this isn't a bad thing, per se, but Monogatari's style should remain Monogatari's style. I know a lot of Shinbo/Shaft shows share the same traits, but this wasn't just "lolshaft", this was Hikkikomonogatari, down to the colouring, the cuts, and even the close-ups. I was kinda worried that they'd completely cut background characters, a really prominent trait of Monogatari, but that thankfully didn't happen. Otherwise I'd have to call even bigger BS than I am now. |

| The other mekaku city actors stuff is like this. It will get brighter and more colorful at times. This show is what monogatari S2 should have been. Also this show is like monogatari because thats Akiyuki Shinbou's style. Its in Denpa Onna. It's in Nisekoi. It's in Madoka. It's in everything he makes. Only newfags still think Shinbou animated monogatari that way because of the novel. |
| Wow, the animation was exactly as I expected. Even having never seen a Shaft show, I now realize how distinct Akiyuki Shinbou's directing style is. I guess that now I have seen one, I have seen them all. And I can't stop hearing Shiroe. |

| The style of the SHAFT is fully recognized here, but I can not stand when people recommend Monogatari only because it has the same producers, my first impressions were more or less, the anime raised more questions than answers, but I didn't get the impression that it will be bad, so i'll keep watching. LOL the first episode and people already been talking it sucks, c'mon give me a break guys |

| Alright! xD Ene is adorable! First thing that came into my mind. Anyways, nothing much to say about this anime, except the fact...that I had no idea what was going on? o-o It was normal around the beginning, you know, your average NEET heading out for the first time in...years, and then he is now a hostage from a terrorist attack, and now...stuff comes rumbling down from the store. I didn't get it, but, the artwork was ok. :P Overall, I hope they explain what happened in episode 1, or else. :/ |
