| A bit surprised that they showed Material Burst in episode 1, but it wasn't bad . All in all pretty much what I expected from Madhouse. Definitely stoked for the next episode. |

| I guess you can't believe the hype. The first half was so annoying.Never before did I see a show where characters introduce themselves to each other for 10 minutes. Thankfully the second half made up for it. Overall the episode was mediocre. |

| Clearly a weird Siscon Brocon relationship(Lol @Chiba and Shibata went off when he touched miyukis face).. | Great animation,especially during that sparing scene with Yakumo and when they use magic (really looking forward to seeing the magic fights seeing how good the regular fights looked). The only downside/negative thing I would have to say about this episode was Miyuki's "Onii-sama" crap but it wasn't such a major deal that I'd dislike this because of it. Can already tell this going to be my second favorite of the season and my 1st in expectation levels. |

| I counted 26 onii-samas throughout this episode. Rounded up, the episode is 24 minutes long. That's a little over 1 oniisama per every minute that passes in the episode. Incredible. |

| This is a decent first episode, but nothing more really. The fight was nice and the premise seems interesting, but apart from that the characters (especially Tatsuya's sister) were quite monotonous and the pacing felt a bit off. Hopefully it is as LN readers said and this first arc is the weakest... |

| so this is one of the most hyped shows of the season... a *lot* of focus on the brother-sister relationship here - i'm still trying to figure out what kind of show it's gonna be. usually it takes a couple episodes to realize that it's a harem or a comedy or a deep action series. |

| Note: will mention what will be covered in the manga within the anime, but won't go beyond that, so no need to worry about spoilers or comparisons... Started reading the manga(s) a while ago, and was really stoked to see this get an anime adaption. First episode looks really good. Loving the sound effects, visuals, and action scenes. Considering the lengthy story, it's spinoffs, and sequels on the manga (still on-going as of writing this), they've got a lot of source material. I'm hoping they adapt all of it. Looks like they're going to cover Nyuugaku-hen (first arc of the manga), and at least part of Kyuukousen-hen with showing a certain character in purple uniform in the ending sequence. That should be enough for 1-2 seasons...about half of what they currently have in the manga/novels. Edit: Nidhoeggr said: Those reviewers don't know what the f*** they're talking about. They seem to be the type that would prefer mahou-shoujo. At least ANN knows what's up. |

| An interesting start with plenty of potential. The hand to hand fighting really showcases how great Madhouse can get. That guy in the ending (or is it opening?) looks like Suzaku from Code Geass. Miyuki's one sided brocon reactions are amusing. So far Tatsuya seems like a good balance of composed, intelligent, and yet not dull or one dimensionally monotonous. Still have no idea what to expect with this series, but at least I have something to look forward to each Saturday. If anything I like how this first episode has kept the story vague instead of spoon feeding the objective right from the get go like some seem to expect. | Wow. Certainly no middle ground to stand on here, apparently you have to either love it or hate it right from the gate. Sorry, not gonna buy into that crap. I am neither troll, nor am I fanboy. So, here goes. First, I've never read the LN or manga, so I'm basing purely from JUST this episode. I didn't watch the specials either. The basics: The VAs, and OP/ED were all well done. Hell of a cast line-up for this one. Considering this is, in fact, the FIRST episode of a 2-cour series, it's impossible to comment on overall plot building. But, it seems to possess a certain mystery in the plot it did present, which seems interesting. The story seems to be intelligent and well developed, and the pacing was neither too slow nor too fast. If the episodes continue like this, this will be brilliant. Characters didn't get much time to build because of the sheer number of them, but all of them were given enough of a look that we can see the stereotypes presented aren't necessarily all they have going. They presented a lot of mystery surrounding the MC, and dropped the word "secret" to grab attention, all classic blatant foreshadowing. Even though I have not read the LN or manga, nor did I watch the specials, I caught on to the world building and magic pretty quickly and can figure most of it out on my own. The rest will come with time. Overall, I'd say this episode was a pretty solid 8/10. It has great potential, and I'm interested to see where it goes. It may very well be one of the best for this season, depending on if it can keep up with what has been laid out in this first episode. |

| This was only the first episode, but already had high expectations even before the season starts, and will not seem to let me disapointed the animation was good, I liked the OST and voices combined with the characters, especially Miyuki and Tatsuya several characters have been presented, and the relationship of the brothers has already been demonstrated also had a great fight scene, and demonstration of magic, it was very good the first episode will have 26 episodes as the plot may be well worked surely the anime promises to be one of the best of the season _________ Este foi somente o primeiro episódio, mas ja tinha grandes expectativas antes mesmo da temporada começar, e não parece que vai me decepcionar a animação foi boa, gostei da OST e as vozes combinaram com os personagens, principalmente Miyuki e Tatsuya varios personagens já foram apresentados, e a relação dos irmãos ja foi demonstrada teve também uma ótima cena de luta, e demonstração de magia, foi muito bom o primeiro episodio como terá 26 episodios o enredo poderá ser muito bem trabalhado com certeza o anime promete ser um dos melhores da temporada |

| Animation is good, but not much else drawing me in so far. I also thought the piano OST during the ceremony was awkward and distracting. I'll of course keep watching to see how the hype pans out, but nothing to wet your pants over so far. |

| As much as I dislike the little sister with a brother complex thing, Miyuki wasn't so bad. I really like Tatsuya and the world/fighting is cool. I'll keep watching but the little sister thing is going to bother me throughout the anime, which will probably make it less enjoyable. |
